I just filed my taxes for last year and it looks like I'll be getting back a pretty good amount of change. This means I'll in turn be able to squirrel away some funds for knife purchases.:D
Bring on that lazerStrike, Maybe the SS 4 too!:D

Just wanted to share my excitement! The year is off to a good start!

Hmm, must be nice.. Last return I got was in '97.. Since then I owe, I owe, I owe so off to play I go!!!

Like my old Perubian buddy said, money causes problems.. And I guess being State side we all have our share of those;)

Looks like your on the other side of the coin, returned monies are always a blessing..

Hey since obama hasn't put any fuel in my truck like he promised maybe you could buy me an ESEE 3???

thanks...

Well personally I would rather break even or even owe a little than get a large refund. The idea of giving this govt an interest free loan never has sit well with me. :barf:

What sarge is saying is that it doesnt make much sense to pay it in over the year, then get it back as a refund.

Overall, it makes more sense to just not pay that much in in the first place.

I'm with you 100%. For me, I ended up with another child in November, so this gave me a boost as far as taxes for the year go.
I totally understand were you guys are coming from, there has been more than a few years that I owed, even after I felt I paid more than my share.

Any time I get a refund, I basically gets consumed on the things I couldn't afford through out the year. Anything the kids/wife need, household fixes, and such. Then anything left over is sort of play money.

This is something I struggle with. In principal, I would rather not need to pay at all, but in practice, I know that if I didn't, I the money would be adjusted to in lifestyle and would go unnoticed after a while. Like it or not, for me, it just ends up being a bonus in the form of a refund.
Yeah, I get to spend some of my own money.

I'm with you on that! I have it dialed in pretty close; I don't mind $100 either way but if it's more than that I need to make an adjustment!

i wish i was as happy. although i dont owe, i'm not getting as much as last
year. no knives to be had from this amount. oh well, my heart goes out to
those who owe $$$$

My tax return list depending on what it is (shouldn't be too much) is an esee 5 or a esee izula!
Both of which are waiting patiently to join my gear.

It is indeed a strange notion to loan the government money at zero percent interest, and then be happy when it returns your money to you.

That being said, I too would be most pleased to receive a refund.

I'm also getting a buttload.

Lots of goodies for me, I tell my kids Feb is christmas for me......

Just bought my first house early last year so cannot wait for my $8,000. Sadly it is going straight back into my savings until the wife is done with school in may. Then i just may buy a LS! And FWIW i keep very good track of taxes and Never overpay. I will never put myself in a spot to get a flippin i owe you.

I am usually $50 one way or the other. I don't like giving free loans.

I am not a fan of taxes, but my refund always helps out. This year I am paying off two cards and will likely have enough money to buy an RC4 for myself and a Benchmade custom Grip for my buddy, so I haven't anything to complain about.

My tax return is going to be spent having an old S&W 629-1 repaired(sheared off hammer rotating pin). And since its going back I figured I'd have them change out the 6.5 inch barrel for a full underlug sub 3 inch barrel. But after thats done Im probably going to have to send it somewhere else to have the square butt ground down to round butt. Who knows? I might just keep it as a square butt snubby.
