There's so much talk about Swamp Rats that I was thinking perhaps one day I should really take one of these Rats into a real swamp like the above.

The peat swamps in Malaysia are mean places - inhospitable and full of strange creatures and insects. The Swamp Rat should feel at home in this kind of place, even if I won't! :D :D

Hi golok,

That’s an interesting bit of country, do you find a lot of snakes in there, some of the marsh lands over here are a bit like that. when you get onto the dry bits, there’s always a mass of snakes.

Yes, there are snakes. Sea snakes are no fun. They are really quite poisonous.

snakes, I hate snakes...we are moving into Tiger season here now. I ride my MTB through the local swamp tracks and those bastids literally jump out at you. Angry dispositions... :grumpy:

Guy,
Those feisty little tigers can stand your hair on end when they don’t like you. I had one hanging on my pants leg one time. I thought I was about to meet my maker. They get even more interesting in February..

Leave it to a Central FL boy to ask that question.:D Would be nice if it's as tasty as rattlesnake. ;) Easy to prepare, easy to eat, and exciting to catch. Not like blasting Bambi eh?

Golok, BTW that looks like one of our mangrove swamps. Not too much in the way of dangerous animals, but mosquitos the size of B-52's.

I can honestly say I’ve never tried one. Never even entered my mind.:D
The only reptile I’ve eaten is crocodile in mango sauce, that was at a restaurant.

It wasn’t bad, but not something I’d go for again. :D
