I can't believe what I did to myself yesterday! I just started that thread about cutting yourself and scars/war stories. Well yesterday I was adjusting the pivot on one of my pocket knives and some how when I turned the knife I depressed the lock and the scaple sharp blade slipped and sunk into my left pointer finger!!!!! I calmly looked down and put the knife down and looked at my finger, it was a VERY clean cut about and inch long and all the way to the bone! I opened and closed my finger to see if I cut the tendon but luckly I didn't! My finger worked fine but I could see the bone and a bunch of yellow stuff that I think was a layer of fat cells!!! I kind of got sick to my somach after that. I needed 4 stiches to close it up! Looks like I now have another "war" storie and scar to talk about!!!

And I just said in the other thread that I'm now much more carefull and won't get cut because it takes to long to heal and hurts to much....well I was half right!:D  Maybe God is trying to tell me something?;)

Yep, you know you've got a good cut when it turns into an anatomy lesson! :barf:

Sorry to hear that the khuk bites are spreading--maybe they get hungry near Halloween:eek: :D

how much fat could there be in a finger tip? When I gain weight my fingers get bigger around. Too bad all my 'fingers' don't get bigger around.

When I was eight I ran through someone's backyard and tripped on a rain bird sprinkler head. The head went into my leg above the knee cap. I could see the knee cap and some tan stuff.

Well have to ask medical science to add 'tan stuff' to the list of the body's supplies.

At this rate, I ain't touching no K's or knives until this cuttin' curse is exorcised from the forumites! Too many semi-amputations are being reported. :D

The cut was on the side of the finger and sliced at an angle so you could see different layers of the meat. There was what looked liked a thin layer of fat!:barf:

Skag,
This brings up an interesting question: How many people you think acutally look carefully into the wound before attempting to close it? I know I do. How many women would, you think?

..you know, if there wasn't any fat in a finger, it would get cold in winter.... Perhaps the Donner survivors thought of them as chicken wings.

I never thought about that! That is a little odd I guess but then I have never been considered normal by most!!:D ;)

I think most females would faint or get really up set by a bad cut. I'm sure most would probably not look at it! But I could be wrong as I have heard that women tend to have a higher pain tolerance than men!:(
