Just did some knife trading and in the process I picked up a Chris Reeve NIB TANTO1.
Went to the CR web page and it is not even listed....hope I did not get a counterfit and take it in the butt!!!!

Muzzleup:
CRK did indeed have two runs of tantos. One large and one small they are NICA limited 400. Each was a run of 400 knives. I have a small one that I paid $360.00. They are only available from NICA dealers (National Independant Cutlery Association). Nice little knife, a collectors piece.

Scott, I think he means the One-Piece Tanto, not the folder. I think CRK recently did a 9" tanto, don't know the number.

The nine-inch CRK fixed blades (Tanto, Shadow, Sable, Project) I was told are limited-run (as opposed to limited-edition, like the Kathathus) items that are made in small production runs every once in awhile. I got a Tanto I from Jim Mattis just before he passed away. It is a particularly beautiful piece in lines and proportion, in my opinion. My son thinks it is a sword!

Okay, mine looks just like the big one in the photo except mine has a knurled cap instead of a hex. Does CRK make the same knife with different handle caps for a reason or is mine just a different run???

The old style butt cap was hexagonal, the new ones are round and knurled. I think the new ones look much better.

Thanks Ralf, this helps clear it up for me. Looks like a have a newer one that just has not yet made it to the CRK web page.
