I have one. I gave away a drop point Pioneer II to a good bud of mine and had to replace it. I ended up with a Clip point and Tanto point. I'm not real fond of Tantos, they just don't do anything for me, but hey I only paid $45 from another Fourmite. How could I go wrong at that price? If you like Tantos then you should love the Pioneer II. If you look around or post in the "Knives Wanted to Buy" Forum, you might find someone who still has a clip point/drop/swept point they want to get rid of.

a bud has a pioneer tanto much like the 1 1sks has - it reminds me of a emerson CQC7 or a BM stryker - in shape anyway - for $59.95 its a hell of a deal, knifecenter.com sells for $119 - so if ya want one ya better get it - i am gonna buy 1 as soon as i can, prob about 2 wks so ......what more can i say???

got a package coming from 1sks tue w/a surefire 2Z and a CRKT Kasper folder, i looked at 1 at the gunshow last wk and decided i had to have 1 - ALMOST ordered the pioneer - wish i woulda got it too now lol - but plan on getting 1 in about 2 wks - just something about that kasper i liked and was only about $35, the guy at the show wanted $55, plus tax - so cheap anyway.....

I have a tanto point. I really like it. The shape of the poing isn't too severe, and is very useful. I've been carrying mine off and on for about a month now. It's a tough little knife, with great ergonomics, and a useful shape. It's built pretty much like a tank.

The best part about the tanto point is the strength of the tip - I doubt very much I could damage it without driving it into concrete. Also, its nice to have a second sharpened point to cut things with, beyond the tip. Its shape does remind me alot of the BM 910 Stryker.

It's probably the best deal you can get on a tough knife with a super-lock. If you like tanto's, or can at least live with them, go for it.
