Read about it here.

Anybody else have that "gotta pee" feeling waiting for this knife? I do.:p The estimated release date in August was Octoberish, and I haven't heard anything since.

This is just about the perfect secondary carry knife for me. I'm not a fan of combo blades (too little of either edge to be useful), so I carry one of each. First it was a Rescue 93mm, which was great, but since I carry it IWB, and I ride a bike in Arizona, it'd rust up. Then I tried the Salts, and my current carry is an Atlantic Salt. Great knife, but I want something with a tip.

My main use for my Salt is at work. I work at a pizza place (chain), and my main use for the knife is opening bags of wet, greasy, gunky food. And boxes. The perfect knife for this job is a serrated hawkbill, but Spyderhawks, Harpys, Merlins, etc are a) getting hard to find, and b) probably wouldn't take kindly to sweat, gunk, and infrequent cleanings.

So the Tasman Salt looks just about perfect to me. Could be a bit bigger (Delica sized handles are a touch small), but I won't complain. But the waiting is killing me!

I too am waiting for this knife to be realeased, and have not heard any word as of yet, but in the meantime, the CF Harpy should satisfy some of the cravings for a new Spyderco hawkbill.

I recently acquired a PE Spyderhawk, which I had been searching for for sometime now, and honestly it is my favourite hawkbill, and everything about it is just right. These are indeed getting hard to come by, and are commanding around the $200 mark on ebay as of late, and even the SE Spyderhawk's are getting snapped up, as are the Merlin's. It just illustrates the market for quality hawk's, and the Tasman Salt appears as though it will be perfect, and probably come close to the PE Spyderhawk as "top hawk's", in my view.

In terms of the size, I actually prefer the size of the Spyderhawk, and find it to be perfect in every way, and since I do not own a Harpy as of yet, I am beginning to question it's smaller size, just as the Tasman Salt will be smaller...... However as you said,... " I won't complain ", and I eagerly anticipate the arrival of this knife.
