Tell me about Talonite...

Just traded for a Ralph/Simonich Talonite folder in Talonite. What are the properties of Talonite - easily sharpened? high rust and stain resistent? hardness? etc... Guess I need to be enlightened. thanks in advance.

You must search, but search wisely, for as the proper key words will bring wisdom and light, the wrong ones will lead you down dark paths.

The talonite thread that is some 20 or more pages long is enough to make my head hurt.

But, it has me curious enough about talonite to get a blade made from this material. For the price of a Camillus talonite EDC, it will be worth having some fun with the material. The neat thing about the Camillus series is that one could purchase the 154CM, talonite, and D2 models to try out side by side.

My gut feeling is that all three of these knives are probably keepers and would be a nice part of any rotation.

The more I know about knives and steels, the more I begin to rely on every day use to be the judge and jury.
