A few months ago I've seen for the first time a picture of this model and I knew right then that I must have one. Terry just finished it and made a quick photo. I needed this photo badly because I've asked to have the knife sent to the Paris knife show in September rather than shipped by mail. Jerry Hossom kindly agreed to bring it along.
The knife has a shorter clip than the usual ones and I love it.
Terry is a very nice man, the communication was excelent and the knife was finished even quicker than expected.

That's a great looking knife. I like the blade shape a lot; seems like it would be usable for all sorts of tasks. That tempering line looks good too.

I have yet to see one of Terry's knives that I dont like. I have one of his little hunters on the way as I type this, but I am desperately trying to scrape up enough cash for this killer bowie he has for sale (I wonder if I can donate a kidney?). Here is a picture of the bowie in question. Somebody needs to buy this bowie from him, before I do something like donate sperm for 6 weeks straight!

That style of knife has become one of my favorites and Terry's are as nice as any that I have seen. Congratulations Flava, you will have yourself a great knife. Too bad you have to wait until September to get it. I'll bet the wait is just about going to kill you.

flava, that looks like it will definately be worth the wait.

Are you sure it's for sale? His site doesn't seem to have a "Available" area...

Hey flava!!!
This thing looks just gorgeous! I have also ordered one from Terry and you can bet that the wait is getting really, really inhuman:eek:
QUESTION: This sheath..... you are going to tell me that this is the one which comes with the knife???
I have never saw one of Terry's sheaths but if this is it...:D
O.k. be patient (you have to be) up to Paris... and then use it a lot!

BTW, are you also sometimes around Switzerland??? Just wonder:cool:

STAY SAVE

Both the small tactical and the big bowie are completely drool-inspiring. I can understand why flava might not survive the wait and why Danbo is considering such, ahem, extreme measures.

Cheers,

RogerP

That is a beautiful knife, Flava! Good luck with the wait. That looks too nice to use, but it just begs to be used. Very cool!:)

I have one of Terry's hunters, and the fit and finish are excellent. My use thus far has been limited, but the knife handles very well. Edge retention is great and touch-ups are a breeze.

Flava, you will be pleased with the knife, sheath, and other components of the package.

Good luck with the wait....Your going to need it!!! :D :D :D

Sweet small tactical Flava... I'm assuming that you saw the article about these in the Blade issue with Wesley Snipes from Blade II on the cover. Anyways... Terry Primos mentions you indirectly in the article, about how he even shipped one of these out to France. It's gotta be you! That is one beautiful knife, I especially like the temper line. I hope the sheath pictured is the one you are getting... a beautiful piece of work in it's own right.
As a result of that article, and a timely post by Mr. Lamey, I have on order right now a similar small forged Bowie styled blade like yours. I can't wait....
Enjoy, Mongo

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

I'm glad you like the knife Flavius. I was a little concerned, because it doesn't really look like all the rest of them I've been making. I've been working with one bad hand here lately and it's not easy. I boogered up a finger pretty bad while working when I was too tired. But hey, that may make the knife even better for you. It has a good story behind it. Imagine making a knife using only three fingers on one hand, and your index finger poking straight out. :D

Man, I didn't realize you had to wait that much longer. That must be tough. Hey, let me really rub it in and show you what will be in the package. This one was done with two good hands.

Joss,
There are a couple of reasons you don't see an "available" page on my website. One is that I've made very few knives that weren't orders since December of last year. When I do have one, I generally give a sneak preview to existing customers first.

Another problem right now is finding time to do anything with my website. I'm the knifemaker, shipping department, purchasing department, phone receptionist, public relations officer, photographer, floor sweeper, etc. I'm also the webmaster, but there's only so many hours in a day. :D I'll eventually get the gallery redone on the website, complete with all the new products, and out with the old. I also have a few tutorials to put up eventually. The pics are ready, but not the content and HTML.

Terry, that is pretty much the standard by which all custom maker's should ship their knives. Very nice touches all around.

sorry to hear about the finger, hope it is healing well.

Terry that knife is a real beauty. The wood has such a nice polish that it looks like you can see a couple of inches into it. That sheath is excellent quality as well. I know you use different kinds of wood for the handles, but do you use any other natural materials such as stag or sheep horn?

Thanks Keith. That one is a nice piece of Ironwood, and yes, you can see down into it.

I'm not sure it's ethical for me to talk too much business here. I'll just quickly answer your question by by saying no, I have not used either of those materials you mentioned on these yet.

I'll bail out now and send you an email.

Thank you guys for the kind words. Do not worry for me, I have a fullproof method to make the wait easy: when you wait for a knife all need to do is buy more knives every once in a while :D Actualy I am used to wait and it's not that hard. The worst is when I have no knife to wait for! It makes me go crazy.

Swissdagger, the pictured sheath is the sheath that comes with the knife. Pretty cool, huh? The closest I got to Swiss yet is the Savoie ;)

Never saw the article in Blade but Terry mentioned it to me. Can't find that magazine here. If anybody has the article and a scanner I would really apreciate having it sent to me by email (I can take up to 3Mb). Pleeeease...

Hey Terry, what kind of would is the Bowie handle? That has got to be one of the top 10 handles I have ever seen. And as my temporary internet file will tell you, I've seen LOTS of knives.

Gotcha. That wasn't meant as a reproach, BTW. It's just imposible for us potential customers to be aware of anything if it's not specified that it's available. I saw the knife on CKD, but I asumed that it wasn't available, as there was no other mention or price etc. I assumed that it was a commission. In any case, that's a great knife! Congrats'!
