So I have been debating water jetting. At first I mainly wanted to get my patterns cut out of Micarta so I will be able to match each knife exactly. I also wanted to look into getting blanks cut. Well, Im old school and have paper drawings of my patterns! Obviously this wasn't going to work for the person doing the cutting. I contacted OL_SC after seeing his CAD work on the tin knife contest. Over the last couple of days he has so graciously transformed pics of some of my knives into real CAD drawings. Not only can I use these for waterjetting but I can match blades I profile up to an exact scale drawing that I can print off. It doesn't sound like much but it will help me out so much and I know he has put in alot of time doing it. Everything will match including the pin holes. Thanks Obadiah(love that name!), you are a talented designer my friend.

It never ceases to amaze me the willingness & generosity of the people on this forum as far as helping others when the need arises . . . . and usually without being ask or accepting anything in return . . . .
Chris I think you are going to see a real time savings in this, and your patterns matching almost exactly blade by blade. I know when we switched to having our moulder profile blades done this way, if we had to order a duplicate set, they were within thousands of an inch in matching the others.
OL_SC, good on you for this deed to help Chris, & welcome to BA & KFU's forum . . .
Chris, now get busy and get some more blades turned out, a couple of windows & a few hundred sq. ft. of siding should be no excuse . . . . :D :D
Be safe.

I hear ya Bill, very generous people here. Im afraid the remodel will take me a little longer than I planned :) Im doing Hardi siding which Ive never done before. Seems much more labor intensive than vinyl. I can knock the windows and doors out no problem.

you doing HardiePlanks (lap siding) or Pardipanel (4x sheets w/embossed grain)?
I and a buddy put up siding on my house one weekend using the panels (4x8 & 4x9 are standard sizes, can get 4x12!)
looks similar to T-111 siding.
the planks aren't that difficult -- check out Andrew Colglaser's house building thread on that.
the bad part is cutting it -- wear a mask, that stuff is nasty.

Im doing the planks Vik. I just like the looks better than vinyl and I can get a good deal on it.

get the Z-clips or whatever they call the slip on gauges -- makes the install MUCH faster.
I'd offer to help, but gas $$ to get there would kill me.

I appreciate the offer! Yeah, its nasty stuff to cut being concrete. Cool thing about the big storm we had was I get money for the remodel. I was needing to get a roof soon anyways too.

You are welcome!

I enjoy at the end of the day just relaxing with some music and working on the computer or playing video games so it works out for me.
