that mirror polished tachyon

Wow.. the website got updated.. Now, just waiting on the first to receive them.... Chuck? Dawkins?

$5000 for a proto? damn, those knifemakers sure know how to exploit balisongcollectors... :(

but then again, if i were right, and i really DID have $5000, i'd definately go for it. i mean - it's a prototype, right? :p

yapp, 5000 sure is too much...
my gawd, what horrifying example of utilization of poor ones! shame on mikey. :p

Wow...you can (or could) have gotten one of Darrel Ralph's Gemini Protos for less than half that...., way less than half!

I must say, that does seem just a tad unreasonable. But hey, who am i to judge...

Five grand?!! Wow that is pretty amazing. I'm surprised that Dudley hasn't snatched that up, but then again, that would be alittle too easy a catch for the MASTER. He digs holes all the way to the Earth's core to find his treasure.

Personally, I would love to see a pic of this knife just so that I would know what a five thousand dollar knife looks like.

BTW...Hey to everyone! I'm still lurking in the darkness around here. Just not too much to say on this end. Been playing with Bushmasters.

Best regards,

Funny thing is you've been looking at it. It's the one on the main website with the bamboo background.

Sorry, Loveless and Cronks are in a way different league. At least with Cronks, you won't see any more made. Worse, that's not even a prototype, it's just a one of a kind. If you like to see knives in the 4 to 5 figure range, stop by Barrett-Smythe in NYC, anything from there would take a huge chunk out of your mortage fund. Too bad they never carried bali's.

Yeah I saw that Loveless Ranney.., I suppose it is all subjective. Heck sometimes I get dizzy looking at what some of these people pay for "dolls" on Ebay.., so I'm sure they all think we are nuts too :) !

And Tony??? You could pick up that Loveless..., have Eric whack off the full tang and convert it with Bali-Handles??? Now that would be a good one to explain to the wife  ...

"Yes sweetie.., it's true that I did have to pay $325 + S&H for these handles..., but the knife cost 19K..., so puuuuuulease get your priorities straight before attending the anger management classes"

Sorry, as much as I love bali's, there's no way I'll destroy a Loveless like that. Especially a Big Bear. I'm not that crazy.:D :D

If you could get on a waiting list, and I don't think he still takes new orders, a new Big Bear would probably cost at least $1900 (ballpark?). Shall we ask R.W. if he'll consider making a balisong?

Loveless stopped taking orders over a decade ago. If you were lcuky enough to have a knife on order then, you'll pay whatever was the asking price then. Of course, there were lots of people that've been waiting several years for a knife before he stopped taking orders. Last time I heard, they're still waiting.

Make that at least $4500.
