Well its that time of the year again. Another year older, and like always i have no idea what i want. My parents keep bugging me about what they should get, but i have no idea what to tell them. I figure i should probably take this opportunity to get a new knife. Im a college kid living out on my own, so new knives dont come that often.

So here is my question. What should I ask for?
Ive already got an Izzy, 3 Mil, and a Junglas. My gf has already hinted that she is getting me an Izzy II, so thats off the list.

Ive also thought about a good multitool since i dont own one. I just have no idea. any suggestions would be great.
And it doesnt necessarily have to be a knife. Any type of gear is fine.
 
now thats a tough question. any camping or hunting trips plans this year. it seems like your already set knife wize.

if i had to make a suggestion for a multitool knife it would be a Victorinox Mechanic.

Do you have a good pack? Good boots? I'm always up for another ESEE knife, but I've spent some hefty coin on other gear to make sure I'm ready when I head out.

Junglas. My BDAY is in 5 days. I won't be getting a Junglas, and dammit, someone should be. :D

how do you sharpen them? maybe a sharpmaker, edge pro, dmt stones or diafolds, etc. depending on the budget and what you already have.
 
Get a 5. I pack mine when searching for the right timber for making twisted walking staffs because it is something that is versatile to bring along with a bow-saw so I don't have to tote a blade the size of the Junglas or a hatchet.
 
ok just to answer a few questions. Ive already got boots, a maxpedition pack, and a sharpening system.
Im going on the ESEE campout in March and probably a few other campouts this year.
 
Ask for a big box of Hickory Farms sausage and cheese and a Super Tool 300.
 
If you don't have a multi-tool i'd recommend a SOG powerlock or powerassist, depending on what tools you need there are a few different versions
 
I'm digging my HEST as an all around tool that's also a knife. So that or an ESEE 5.

It would be sweet of you to buy your spectacular girlfriend an Izula II ...

If the folks might not like the idea of a bare blade, push the multi tool, ya definitely needs one!

the folks are fine with the blades. they are the ones that gave me the junglas. lol.

as of right now im leaning towards the 5. but a nice leatherman and maybe a LMIW sheath for the junglas would be pretty cool.
 
If you need a mult-tool, I'd look around and get one of them. Ever since I got one I use it almost everyday around the house, and in the woods when I am out there. Look at the various Leatherman, Victorinox and SOGs. Find one to fill your needs :)
