The evidence is clear on the choices from Queen, and the fact that a larger knife is the way to go. GEC has fewer choices, but some nice, well made knives.
Here are a couple I have, based on the Remington Trapper at 3 3/4", and GEC's Equal End (EE) "Cigar" at 4 1/8". I will add more pics as I find them;

Let the GECcomments begin!!

Charlie, I did not enter into the fray in the first thread, but what ever y'all pick, I want in on this year's. I love every knife I have had from either Queen, or GEC. If you go with GEC my vote is for the Equal End pattern. They have a lot of variations on that, so we quite a bit of options. Nice pics by the way.

I was not saying anything either as I will be in whatever is picked, but I like the equal end with the clip. By the way, thanks for putting up with the group meeting type selection process!

Charlie, you'll probably want this one "stuck" so I took the liberty...

I'll be happy with whatever you come up with. The Trapper posted really caught my eye though.

Equal end with clip blade...waynorth's pic convinced me!

A pic is worth a thousand words!:D
I kinda like that one myself! Even as a one blade!

You know, we can put a Clip AND a Spear in that sucker! Either end, or same end!!

Anyone know what the blade options are in the Trapper?

Charlie,

Does the tip of the punch dig into your hand when you are using the main blade? Equal end or the tear drop harness jack are both winners.

God Bless

If I have to pick one, I would go for the equal end. I would prefer a clip in one end and a spear in the other.

Blade up or blade down, it does not dig in kwl. Either position, your cutting pressure is at the spine/backspring.

I'd be happy with a punch or a second blade. I have a lot of HJs, so two blades is more appealing to me, but I am one of many. We'll see how the vote goes.
