Yesterday I picked up my second necker from a small scale outdoor goods importer who ordered it for me in the US. I was a previous customer (gregory z-35r!) and he was kind enough to entertain my inquiry about buying some knives in the US although with great reluctance. After conferring with his associate in the US he informed me that he can't handle the BK-2, just the BK-11. During the course of our discussion, he must have assumed that he could go ahead with the order. And I was surprised that he informed me that the necker was on its way. Maybe it was my fault for not clearing things up. Couldn't fault him seeing my enthusiasm with the Beckers. And he is a nice person to work with anyway (and will be my small knife resource from now on).
I just thought, well, two is one. And a spare necker would always be handy. So here she is, the accidental necker, the one on top.
The accidental one came out remarkably sharper than both my BK-2 and first BK-11. Somehow I now have an idea of how sharp I can really push for and more as I am currently learning how to sharpen my necker. And I think I'll be seeing the tweeners firs before the King
Off to the sharpening stone for me to shed some metal.
