...is a blade of course.
:D

in desperate need of a gas forge i was lucky enough to find the best person at just the right time.
he was as helpful as possible and was more than happy to construct my forge.
so with my sword forge to be delivered on saturday (goody goody!!) i couldnt think of any other way of thanking him but making him a little blade.

so here tis, (i would have made him something larger, but without the means to heat treat something larger this is the best i could come up with)

its a nice lil palm knife,
jarrah burl handle with a mosaic pin.
a silver habaki type thingy
the blade is clay treated, it was a piece of folded high carbon that got turned into a blade a while back and was just sitting around, but it pretty nice i think.
the spine was file worked with a vine pattern

That is really a striking knife. What are the dimensions? Any future plans to add to you lineup?

Dan

thanks
:D

umm, the blade length is: 5.5cm (2.165")

the handle is: 6.5cm (2.559")

OAL: 12.2cm (4.8")

as always, i'll make 'em if people want them.

I dont much care for that. Dont get me wrong i like the filework and handle material but its just to small to be practical. Any plans for a larger version?

thanks for the comments guys.

balif: i dont know what you mean about practical... this blade fits the palm nice and neatly .. my lil neck knife that i made ages ago is tiny compared to this thing, and i use that allllll the time. but as for bigger blades, id make whatever someone wants.
i suppose it depends on what you regard as a task to complete in order to obtain the title of 'practical'.

one of those personal things i guess
:)
