AFTER RECEIVING MY CHINOOK TODAY, ALL I CAN SAY IS "WHY DID'NT I GET THIS ONE IN THE FIRST PLACE?!". I KNEW FROM READING THE POSTS OF OTHERS THAT THIS WAS A TOUGH KNIFE BUT I REALLY WAS'NT PREPARED TO HANDLE THE THIS MONSTER!!:D :D

ALTHOUGH THE KNIFE IS'NT AS LARGE AS I EXPECTED, ITS OVERALL BUILT LIKE A FREIGHT TRAIN STATURE MAKES MY SIFU AND EVERY OTHER OF MY KNIVES LOOK LIKE THE THIN BUTTER KNIVES AT YOUR LOCAL DENNY'S. IN FACT, EVERYTHING BUT MY SAK CHAMPION WILL BE RETIRED AS OF THIS AFTERNOON. I'VE LOVED THEM ALL BUT NOW THERE'S SOMEONE ELSE. SO, IT'S OVER. GOODBYE.

I'D LIKE TO THANK BENCHMADE KNIVES FOR MAKING ME A SPYDERCO FAN. IF THE 750 PINNACLE I GOT HAD'NT SLIPPED PAST THEIR QUALITY CONTROL DEPT I WOULD HAVE NEVER EXCHANGED IT FOR THE CHINOOK!:D :D

BENCHMADE & REKAT, KEEP UP THE "HIT & MISS" QC AND I'M SURE YOU'LL DO YOUR PART IN CREATING MORE SPYDERCO CONVERTS. ALTHOUGH YOU GUYS HAVE ALWAYS LIVED UP TO YOUR WARRANTY CLAIMS, I DON'T LIKE PAYING FOR A KNIFE AND THEN HAVING TO SEND IT BACK TO THE FACTORY AS SOON AS IT GETS TO MY HOME.

RAF,
I understand---I completely understand your strong feelings for the Chinook :D :D :D
I refer to mine as the Chinook-Beast. :o
It replaced the 7" Ka-Bar I planned to carry outdoors.

Boy, that is a shame about the Benchmade :(

Hi. I got my Chinook a few days ago and love it, truly overbuilt. I've done a little cutting with it, and it performs very well. The Chinook just might be my favorite Spyderco. Great tough, dependable knife.

Have my Chinook coming this week. Can't wait. Damn this trading is fun. I'll post what I think of it.

It got here today. #547 PS. What a beautiful beast. You hear that it is a big, built like a tank knife but until you hold it in your hand you won't quite get it. This thing is massive. Not a gents folder by any meens. The lockup is rock solid. Maybe it's my imagination, but is this design the final 4" of a big fighting bowie. I know Keating is a bowie man and that's the way it struck me at first glance. Great design on his part, Great execution on the part of Sal and Spyderco.
I have yet to try it out due to the time of night but I will in the morning.
I thinks I am in luve.....No?

I just bought my Chinook today at a large gunshop. I had looked at one before but never asked to pick it up- BIG MISTAKE. After holding it I bought it. This knife feels great in my hand. I own other Spyderco knives but this one is my favorite.

I bought mine months ago and though I thought it was built like a tank and very stout I truly did not appreciate it until I got Keatings Riddle of Steel video and saw what he can do with a clip blade (bowie)....now I am convinced. It is a great knife and very balanced and quite easy to manipulate. I just love it. It has been my EDC for weeks now and will remain so.
