Isn't considered an 8OT. It is an 935. Why is it not an 8OT you might ask? Well let me tell you. On the tang it says instead of Schrade USA, John Primble Belknap HDW. & MFG. CO. Still has the old timer shield and all. This knife is great. Thinly ground blades, perfect fit and finish, super sharp carbon steel blades. I like this one so much I gave my actual 8OT to my girlfriend so she can have her own knife now too.

I have an MM8 that I think was sold through Sears and made by Schrade that my dad bought which is pretty much the same as the 8OT.

Have any photos you can share of the 935?

MM8 = Master Mechanics, dead ringer for the 8OT. Master Mechanics was a house brand for True Value, maybe it still is. I have an MM89, with the serrated sheepsfoot blade. I got it from an online warehouse and it came in a tan and black 8OT box.

I've got a Primble 935 also. Here is an image showing a couple of different 8OT variations with a 935 on the right (light tang stamp):

As far as quality, I cannot tell the difference between the Primble and the same-vintage Schrade.

I think as time went on, they did not have the hand finished look as much. Like that nice swedge on that Keen Kutter and Primble Bob!

I like seeing the different matchstrike patterns.

As I can recall, that was the original reason for the image above.

I have four different 8OT variations, five if counting the Primble and six if counting the Old Timer Classic 80. And I can see from your photo that there's at least three more I don't have. :grumpy:

Those three all have the 8OT on the back of the tang. Correct about the original reason, matchstrikes... here is the original, good memory Bob.
