Do to the time delay in the arrival of the Concealex sheaths we had several people cancel their orders.

No big deal and we understand.

We have a bunch left and we really need to move them.

When the idea for an annual BladeForums.com knife was introduced, the members decided that they wanted a knife built to their specifications, instead of a slightly modified stock model. They chose CPM 440V as the blade steel, G10 handles, and they wanted a reversable pocket clip. Spyderco responded with this version of their C41 Native, the first annual BladeForums.com Knife.

As previously stated, the Official 1999 BladeForums.com Knife has a number of upgrades over the standard model:

  • CPM 440V Blade Steel (GIN-1 or AUS-10 Standard)
  • G10 Handle (Injection molded Zytel standard)
  • BladeForums.com Logo and number 1-300
  • Blue Pocket Clip (plain stainless standard)
This knife is the first of many BladeForums.com customized knives to come, and will not be available again once it is gone.

The cost is $99.95 each.

Mike, thanks again for his neato knife. It may be the last collectable piece I buy to to the urge to use it, but I am toying around with it now trying to decide if I should cary and use it or just kep it for later...

Next year, how about a fixed blade about the size of Nimrod or Air Assault? Maybe with a harness, designed by JSP or maybe even a special run of the Arch Angel, or am I just dreaming here? I stil like the idea of a micarta handled endura too, fits my hand better.

At this time the price is not variable.

Also, we asked for this knife and got what we asked for at a very reasonable price. I have to admit that I'm a little surprised that with the number of registered members we have that there still are Natives unsold. If we don't follow through when a special knife is made, how can we expect more down the road ? I don't mean to get in anyone's face, but we do have a collective responsbility here, don't we ? Just my .02

I don't think there's any reason to lower the price. As Mike has stated before, their margin on this is relatively low already, and we don't need to be hurting them any more by trying to get a lower price.

This knife is a steal at $100.

Built the way lock-backs should be.
It is head and shoulders above all lock-backs.

IMO

I want one, but have exceeded my annual allowance for "frivolous stuff." With a baby due in two months, getting my wife to agree to a knife purchase is like trying to convince her that that girl at the bank would be a great second (i.e. additional) wife for me.

I may be able to come up with a good trade, possibly, except that the knives I already have would be too hard to part with. Could someone buy an extra for me and save it for me to get later? I'm not really joking, I'd like one that badly.

Ewok,
I really don't know as of now. I would have to wait to see how I feel about it when I do have the money. I will probably post in the WANTED forum when I am able to afford it. Hopefully there will be someone willing to part with theirs when the time comes. As for now, I have the "BIG PICTURE" of the knife on my computer that I can look at whenever I have the urge.

Mike and /or Spark, just got my Native Wednesday and am very pleased. I have a question about the numbering though. Are they all marked 1 of 300 to indicate the limited production or are they number sequentially, 1 of 300, 2 of 300 etc. I'm assuming it is the former since mine says 1 of 300 and I can't believe I'd be lucky enough to get the first one. Anyway thanks again for a great knife and even with all the delays it was well worth the wait.
