Cool knife. In my opinion it looks very similiar to the 0551 in profile.
It stops at looks though, this knife is much thinner all around.
The blade grind is high and thin. It's a nice slicer.

I really wish the 0551 had a flipper option. The Knockout with its flipper and AO kinda answers that problem for me. Also, mine is the aluminum model, but the sub framelock is steel, I'm guessing.

This will make a nice thin slicer type EDC. I'll edit in better pics when I get home.

Sweet pair you got there. I just put my order in today for a Knockout. Should be here next week. Can't wait.
 
Sitting next to the knockout the 0551 looks like a tank! I have the 0551 and the 0550 and love them both. Knockout is still very stylish and looks like a great slicer. Nice combo 5.56
 
Such a tempting piece of steel there. What are your impression of the knife in terms of quality and do you think it will hold up to abuse well? - Very open questions I know :thumbup:
 
I'm very happy with the initial quality. You can see that mine is perfectly centered and the lockup is about 40%
It came sharp, and I mean razor sharp. I can detect zero blade play as well, it's a solid framelock.

More use will tell the whole story though.

I used a dremel with scotchbrite attachment to satin finish the clip.
I think it accents the knife's features nicely.

that's a great looking knife!
really liking the deep carry on that one, and I've been looking for some more slimmer folders too......may just have to check this model out for myself
 
I'm liking my Knockout too. I can see different colors and blade steels to make it a real collector in the future! :D

I was just about to buy a knockout when I saw the Echelon in stock... now I definitely need this one as well!

I have large hands so I like a big handle. The knockout doesn't quite fill my hand, but then again, it's not a large knife.
I like it because it's a fast, slender, slicer type EDC.

The Piston would be a better option if you want a full handle.
 
So I was on my way home from work the other day and stopped in at my local Benchmade dealer to see what's new... and what-do-you-know I bought a Kershaw. I really like this knife alot and I plan to get a couple more to give away. It was inexpensive and I think it will be a popular knife.
I've already taken it to work and given it a proper beating.
