I've got a few Kershaw's now and I was just curious, If you guys had to pick one Kershaw that you'd consider a "must have" for any Kershaw lover/collector to have, what would it be and why??

...wow...

I'll edit this post later. Thinking about that question makes my brain hurt.

7/16/08: I was going to say the Random Task...but I snagged one last night! So I'll have to keep thinking!

haha, I was going to start but I couldn't figure out which one I'd suggest either...., have fun!

I'll say the Speedsafe Random Task and the Mini Task is the beginning of the upward trend for Kershaw into the minds and pockets of the people!!

I only regret not getting the Ricochet.

For me it's the Trooper, it seems to personify Kershaw from the past to the present.

This is an interesting question. Many of us (but by no means all) are big fans of the newer designer blades (Ken Onion, RJ Martin, and Tim Galyean, for example) and that will skew the answer somewhat compared with the old-school collectors.

Assuming we are talking collecting vice using, my personal vote would be either the Offset or the Tyrade, primarily for the technological showcase factor.

I have a friend who keeps pushing one of the first 1000 or so of these on me. I've had one or 2 before, and I am a true sucker for the dagger. That's a timeless shape. I'm sure I'll own this one s soon as he breaks me down a little further.

As for other Kershaws: the first one that came to mind was the 25th anniversary Onion, especially first 100 or so which had hand finishing by Onion and/or Mayo.

Also, the Random Task.

I love the new designs but these were new too, and revolutionary (in the case of the Random task)

One? Only one? Asking someone to choose only one Kershaw is like asking someone which testicle he would keep, if he could only choose one...

Ahhh heck... I love the Random Task, but I'll have to go with the Leek; one heck of a little workhorse!

Old Model 2420 liner action ( carried one for over ten years)...new model the BLUR

Here is one for you Thomas.

There are so many choices and great candidates for the must have, including the Random task , Mini task, and Ricochet, But seeings how it is Kai's 100th anniversary, I am going with an earlier Knife, First place would be the 2100 Rotary lock.

second place would be another one of the 2100 series.

S30V Leek or the composite or the damascus leek.

I Love Leeks:)

Any one of the JYD models, but preferably the Ti/SG version which shows off both design, production and materials excellence that is Kershaw. The very basic 13C models bought at Wal Mart are also amazing if you think about the level of quality and materials and design that went in to producing those models while keeping the cost very modest. Huge bang for the buck there. Joe
