I would think that most serious knife collectors have one or two knives that they didn't buy when they had the chance (maybe some sort of limited edition or just plain OOP) and now regret it. For me it was a couple of Spyderco's

The first was this Bob Lum design folding tanto. I have yet to see anyone else pull off an "american tanto" blade in a folder that looked as pretty as this one did (at least to my eyes).

Unfortunatly, although they are not that hard to find on the 2nd hand marked, they routinly go for $300+ dollars. Much as I would like one, I just have not been able to convince myself to spend enough to buy 2-3 other high end folders.

My other "miss" was the Spyderco Yojimbo. This one caught my eye the first time I saw it and I had every intention of picking one up. It just seemed there was always something else to get first though, and now they are OOP.

While not as common as the Lum folding tantos, you can still find these on the second hand marked and occasionally even as NOS, but usually at $200+ and again I just can't seem to bring myself spend that much for it.

So, how about everyone else? Any knifes you regret no buying?

Plain edged Titanium ATR and a Plain edge Benchmade 806. I managed to snag a Stainless ATR and a combo edge 806 but it could always be better. Good thread by the way.

Non X-out S60V OD green Kershaw Blur. 14 made it to a dealer, and I could've snagged one. I got an X-out one though to keep me happy.

I regret letting go of the following..
-806 series, both afck and tsek models
-yojimbo
-Manix
-Ti-ATR
-Chinook 1
- Lil temperance...
-Kershaw starkey models
I have had multiples of all of the above over the years.. And sold them all very cheap...

Blackwater Tanto (PE). Made by Benchmade, 4in 154cm blade, titanium framelock. I just waited too long and they dissapeared :(

SOCOM PE drop point in ats34 from 97. But I bit the bullet and bought one. The other is an LCC, from 2k. I bought one of those too, cause life is to short. keepem sharp

Busse Fusion Steel Heart LE.

I now will not pay what the market demands. Insane.

Busse AK47. They originally sold for something like $580, now they're going for $1K.
Too rich for my blood, but I still want one. :)

All Spyderco's-The full size Persian,Manix & Chinook 1

[edited to add]-Kershaw BOA PE 440V & a Classic Sebenza(though I'll be alright with a 21)

I bought one Benchmade 806D2. Had I known then what I know now I would have bought a case. It's just insane to me the Benchmade doesn't make that knife anymore.

I have a few knives that I regret not picking up. They are -

A.G. Russell Texas Toothpick
Large regular CRK BG-42 Sebenza (at least I got a S30V before it was discontinued)
Scott Cook Lochsa

I was able to knock the A.G. Russell knife off the list when I picked this one up a couple of weeks back.

Busse AK-47...just because I could've made a ton of cash on the insane aftermarket prices these days.

For me it was the original Spyderco Lum Chinese Folder in emerald green. I still kick myself for that one. So much so that I bought the Benchmade Mini Dejavoo pretty much on sight.

For me, I regret getting rid of several.

1) S7 Gerber Mk 2
2) Spyderco blue Lum
3) Spyderco Lum Tanto
4) four benchmade M2 knives

Etc. There are more I regret selling than I do not having to begin with. It's the same way with guns. There are a bunch I'd love to have back.Joe

That would be a DDR custom balisong with ray skin inserts, a damascus spearpoint and that BB system....it was expensive, of course, and I was in college...would have been hard to work into my finances. But....I can always make more money. That one's gone and there'll never be another like it.

Great find:thumbup:! I was going to get one, but they discontinued it, and all sold out before I could get the funds. Luckily the fine folks at Spyderco still cured my itch for a new compression lock with the D2 Para Military!

spyderco manix. i should have bought one when they announced the discontinuation. was able to get decently priced aftermarket. (gotta be fast!:D)

busse combat sfnole. a bit more $$$ challenging!:( hey, one day!
