I would think that most serious knife collectors have one or two knives that they didn't buy when they had the chance (maybe some sort of limited edition or just plain OOP) and now regret it. For me it was a couple of Spyderco's
The first was this Bob Lum design folding tanto. I have yet to see anyone else pull off an "american tanto" blade in a folder that looked as pretty as this one did (at least to my eyes).
Unfortunatly, although they are not that hard to find on the 2nd hand marked, they routinly go for $300+ dollars. Much as I would like one, I just have not been able to convince myself to spend enough to buy 2-3 other high end folders.
My other "miss" was the Spyderco Yojimbo. This one caught my eye the first time I saw it and I had every intention of picking one up. It just seemed there was always something else to get first though, and now they are OOP.
While not as common as the Lum folding tantos, you can still find these on the second hand marked and occasionally even as NOS, but usually at $200+ and again I just can't seem to bring myself spend that much for it.
So, how about everyone else? Any knifes you regret no buying?
