So whats the only thing better than collecting knives and watching your personal inventory grow? Well, I found the answer the other day. Giving knives away to friends and family that have yet to start their own collections, yet enjoy knives is way better, no contest.

A few days ago I gave away a 1670TBLKST (tanto blur) to my best friend. He has always enjoyed collecting replica swords and blades, but never really got into knives. Of course, the first day after getting the 1670TBLKST, he showed EVERYONE at work, and now there are several of his coworkers that would like to buy some knifes (you're welcome Kershaw) and he wants to start up his own collection of knives. From this experience, I've found that I enjoy giving knives to others WAY more than getting any knives, even my ZT (sssshhhhh, don't tell my ZT knife, it might get mad). since then, I've given away almost half of my collection (1 knife from half), and every time has been more enjoyable than ANY knife that I've received.

To anyone that doesn't yet know the joy of giving knives as a gift to a friend that may not yet be into knives, I encourage you to give it a try. I'm confident that you'll find that the giving of ANY knife is more enjoyable than the receiving of your BEST knife.

If you've experienced this joy, please share it with others. And if you were motivated, encouraged, or driven to experience this joy for the first time, please share.

Just gave my JYDII CB to my neighbor when he broke his previous user.
It was indeed nice because he's a great guy who's ALWAYS helping others, but it's difficult to find ways to help him.
Being able to do or give him something useful was gratifying. I miss my Dog, but I'm happy he found a good home.

Agreed...giving is a great feeling.....i gave my 7 year old son pick of the Kershaws i just acquired...of course he chose the Biggest one!...hes smiling and so am i....FES

My dad almost has a better collection than me.I've gifted him many knives, from A/Os to Autos, manuals,FBs.He's now started to buy his own and enjoy the art and design as well as a knife's uses.

I gave my girlfriend a cheap lil Kershaw DWO Classic that my grandma gave me back when I was 7 or 8. She loves it :)

I've given knives to my dad and my wife and the once a week housekeeper also.

But I still think the best thing after collecting knives is to play with them!

I don't think anyone is expecting you to give away one of your $500 dollar knives. The point is that the gift of giving can be very rewarding and if it gets one more person interested in knives, so much the better.

Personally, I'd be more than thrilled with a $25 Skyline :D

I too have gifted a good number of knives to friends, relatives and any bloke that looked like he could use one. Never any junk ones either. Buck, Katz, Protech and Spyderco just to name a few. A couple to my nephew's fellow Marines when they visited me in Vegas. Indeed, a most gratifying gesture.
