So whats the only thing better than collecting knives and watching your personal inventory grow? Well, I found the answer the other day. Giving knives away to friends and family that have yet to start their own collections, yet enjoy knives is way better, no contest.
A few days ago I gave away a 1670TBLKST (tanto blur) to my best friend. He has always enjoyed collecting replica swords and blades, but never really got into knives. Of course, the first day after getting the 1670TBLKST, he showed EVERYONE at work, and now there are several of his coworkers that would like to buy some knifes (you're welcome Kershaw) and he wants to start up his own collection of knives. From this experience, I've found that I enjoy giving knives to others WAY more than getting any knives, even my ZT (sssshhhhh, don't tell my ZT knife, it might get mad). since then, I've given away almost half of my collection (1 knife from half), and every time has been more enjoyable than ANY knife that I've received.
To anyone that doesn't yet know the joy of giving knives as a gift to a friend that may not yet be into knives, I encourage you to give it a try. I'm confident that you'll find that the giving of ANY knife is more enjoyable than the receiving of your BEST knife.
If you've experienced this joy, please share it with others. And if you were motivated, encouraged, or driven to experience this joy for the first time, please share.
