The "Other" Board?

From time to time, I read some thing about The Other Board. I suspect that perhaps there is another knife forum that is at least half as good as this one?

I tried all the obvious names, and didn't really find much to hoot about. Could someone slip me the URL? If your too emberassed too post it, just send me a PM :)
 
There are a few other knife forums. All are different, all have their stengths and weaknesses.
 
It doesn't have whine & cheese but it does have a christian forum.
 
I SUSPECT that the "other" board may be one of the more unUSUAL boards that make up the entire NETWORK of forums we all love to use.
 
Usually the other forum is usualsuspect.net . In order not to cause problems, it is generally agreed that both forums not mention each other.
 
My understanding is that the "other board" is knife forums. Usual Suspect Network is something else again.
 
KF is a great forum. I know for a fact that a ton of people that frequent this forum also frequent KF (as you'll often see a lot of the same topics). It seems to me that KF tends to be a little more straight-forward. You don't see as much friendly banter as you do here, but it is still a great source of info.
 
Heh, it's funny that we can't even agree on what the other board is. I think Bob Bowie has it right. For most other forums, like knifeforums.com, there's no problem mentioning the forum here, and I don't see why someone wouldn't just write knifeforums instead of "the other board". There's one forum that by mutual agreement isn't mentioned here, Bob mentioned it in his post, and that's what I always assumed "the other board" was, since it's the only one that we shouldn't mention here.
 
I would have to agree...
KF is great but I like this place better because of the software/layout of things. KF forum feels kind of like a cluttered room to me...still a great place with great people though.

As for the unmentionable place...I've have never been over there...for some reason I get a feeling like its the 5th layer of hell or something...

(lots of sarcasm here for those about to have an aneurism)
 
Knifeforums is an excellent board. Just different. Things are more calm and "professional"(?) there. This place is more fun, but sometimes that makes things more chaotic and unpleasent. There's more people here, and there's a lot more going on, so I mostly hang out here.

I won't make a judgement call on which is "better", because I don't think either is. They're just different.
 
KF is a good forum. The problem I have with it is it takes forever to load. It is very slow and I don't have the patience.
 
i dunno guys, this board just happens to be where the "cool crowd" hangs out, so that's why i'm here.

I came here to learn, I may post a lot, but I am still trying to learn. The other place runs too slow, so I wasn't learning anything over there, so that's why you guys get to see my ugly mug all day!
 
I check in at knifeforums, but besides being to slow to use sometimes, there's just not that much activity. Except in the forsale, but I think that's because you don't have to pay to sell.
 
The only real problems with the KF forum are that it is slow to load. (Sometimes boringly so) and when you post there you have just a few minutes to do any editing if any. (unless you are a moderator on the forum you post on)

Here I have come back to re-read a post I made days later and saw an err or knew something I said was incorrect and was able to go in and change it. I know some of you guys never use the edit feature but I rather like it personally.

Also, I don't think as many of the younger guys hang at the KF as they do here. Not sure why. It just seems to be the case. Not meant as a judgement of good or bad. Just an observation.
