I decided to have a fire tonight & went to grab a knife & realized I haven't used the Hunter since getting it. :(
The poor thing has been sitting in the drawer neglected & has only cut a few hairs off my arm.
So,I grabbed some fatwood & split some kindling in preparation.
I made a nice pile of fatwood curlies & then a couple of fuzz sticks & then commenced to throwing sparks.
It took a few strikes(7-8) on the rod & that was all she wrote.
I really didn't need the fatwood, but wanted to dirty up the hunter so it didn't feel so neglected.

I was amazed at how easy it made the fuzz sticks,it was like using a scandi it's so dang sharp.
You can see how wide some of the curls are on the one fuzz stick,it was like using a planer.
I wouldn't feel under knifed at all if this was all I had in the woods.
Great knife & sharpening Chris.This one's a user fer sure.

And Merry Christmas everyone.

Nice!! I wish I had a fireplace right now. My furnace quit and we are forecast for 2 degrees tonight. We are lucky to have generous friends and relatives with space heaters

Wish I had a fireplace as well, Nice post, and one sweet blade you got there.

Awesome pics Mykel! Thanks for sharing. I wish I had a wood burning fireplace. Mine is gas now but I might convert that bad boy!

Thanks guys,a fire place is a must have in my book.A lot of apartments have 'em up here.
The only draw back to having a fireplace is that I get jonesing for the woods.
I may not be under the stars, but I got fire!
UG!

Mykel, that knife really went to town on those fuzz sticks. Those liners really stick out with those handles, great looking knife . . . .
Be safe.
