OK, I have found the ultimate day-to-day legal and inoffensive carry knife (the Spyderco Pegasus plain edge)
Then, I found the ultimate frequent flyers' knife (the lightweing Spyderco Cricket plain edge, so innoccent as a money clip and so little metal that it doesn't set off the metal detectors if you don't have any other keys or coins on you)
Then, I found THE ULTIMATE sharp knife (the micarta Calypso jr., thanks forumites for pointing out)

So, what's left????
I need something just a little bit sturdier for rougher assingments, BUT after the Calypso, I'm spoiled for ever-even my BM Stryker jr (a very very well constructed and solid knife, "seems" dull to me).
HELP!
Is there a folder that can cut almost as well as my above mentioned Spydercos, but not be so delicate as the Calypso?
(maybe if the Military was a bit smaller, I don't like so large knives..A pity that the older Terzuolas are discontinued...)

Try the Native. I really love the design. The Ergonomics are incredible!

Well, if it's the flat grind that makes the Calypso Jr. cut so well, you might look at the Centofante C25. Construction should be somewhat stronger than the Calypso Jr. BM, with nested liner under G-10, and it sports a liner lock with Secure-Lock safety. ATS-34 ain't bad (better edge holding than Calpyso Jr.'s AUS-8), and I understand it's coming out in cpm 440V if you don't mind waiting a while.

I know I'm tempted.

You know what? I think the Calpyso JR. BM is stonger than you give it credit for. I've used mine for some pretty hard cutting (no prying of course), and it has held up just fine. If you want something heftier and don't mind sacrificing the performance of the flat ground blade, there's always the steel handled Calypso, or the Wegner Jr.

Costas, I think David is right as to the sturdiness of the Calypso Jr. I, myself, have been concerned about the sturdiness (edge, point, pivot) of some Spydercos - specifically my daily carry Delica and Endura. However, they have never let me down. They have been abused on a daily basis (the delica for well over a year) and still look and function like new. I think we sometimes look at a blade/edge profile or handle/lock construction and make judgements that may have no merit (at least that has been my experience), the only way to know how a knife will hold up is by personal experience. You can take other peoples' opinions, but remember no one will use your knife the way you will. What makes a knife perform well for other people, may not make it work well for you, and vice versa. Don't ignore others' opinions just remember they are based on their experiences and use - not yours.

I believe blades is referring to the new C55 Bob Terzoula Starmate. I agree...I think this would be a great choice for you. A little less testosterone than the Millie, but a machismo knife none the less. I know some of the major dealers already have them, I've had customers calling telling me how much they like 'em!
Check it out here:

Thanks Danelle. Thats what I meant. I figured if "Costas" liked the old Terzuolas, he would probably like the new one also. Sorry I didn't have time to explain in my last post.

Blades

Thanks for clearing it up Danelle. Blades, I got a bit excited thinking the original Terzuolas were coming back into production!

BTW, were there any made with G10 scales? Or was it just aluminum?

Nakano - actually, most of them were made with G-10 scales. The Bob T C15 was the first production knife to have G-10 scales.

I suggest the Michael Walker lightweight in aluminum handled version, should be sturdier than the zytel handled one, see it for your self at:

Oh wow, here I go again. Just about the time I've got myself sold on the full sized Wegner, Danelle reports that the Star Mates are popping up in the market place.

Danelle, can they be had on any of the net outlets? If so, you know what this means, don't you? I'll have to buy both the Wegner and the Star Mate! Bummer.

Is that right Sal? What % of them and the JR.s would you guesstimate were made of AL? Would they be considered somewhat rare? Thanks.
