My ex wanted to get me a knife for my birthday but was smart enough to know her knowledge on the subject is somewhat lacking. Rather than take a chance on picking out something on a whim she asked me and I found several on eBay I liked and let her choose from those. She picked out this stag Bulldog from the list for several reasons...first she knows how much a part horses have played in my life, she liked the heart as a sentiment, and she thought it was pretty. I am not much for stag unless it is pretty nice and this Bulldog qualified on that part so the bidding began and I won it. This is a first generation Bulldog and has quickly become my favorite stockman. The blade etch is fitting, the stag is great, and the sentimental value is immeasurable. Fit and finish is top rate, the stag is well match front to back...I am very happy.

Absolutly beautiful knife:thumbup:

The stag is great, and I've always had a soft spot in my heart for matchstrike pulls.

Outstanding knife!

I am sure it is Solingen carbon (1982), and the long matchstrike pulls just add to an already outstanding knife. Swedged blades...I swear this comes close to being the perfect stockman!

absintheur i like the older bulls as well. she's a beauty so clean you're fingernails a lot when in company with your friends.

that is very nice. Excellent stockman.

I love the stag and the heart shield is just great, very original.

You have to love all those Bulldogs.:)

The original 1980's Dorton Bulldogs are some of the best pocket knives made as far as I am concerned. Even the very early Parker era bulldogs a pretty nice.
