Just finished this one up for a forum member. Forged 1095, 14-3/4" overall, 9-1/2" x 2" blade, 1/4+ at ricasso. Clay heat treat, working polish (400 grit, etch, light polish). Guard is browned steel, handle is some industrial black micarta.

Gotta say that I LOVE the look of the browned guard against the black micarta handle - beautiful, but serious in a Doberman kinda way. Blade is terrific, but the handle and fittings are what really grab my eye here. If I saw this on your table at a show, it wouldn't be on your table much longer.

I was hesitant to do the browned steel against the micarta, but the customer wanted something other than SS or Copper. Thanks for the kind words.

That is a perfect description too. Has that doberman look to it.

Nice, Matt! The guard gives a nice touch...I like it. This looks like it could do a lot of damage. Though with 9 1/2-inch blade, its width gives it a short, compact look. Stand back!!

So sweet
I love to have this model with a 12" blade length Matt ;)

Congratulations to the forum member who won this sweetie
And thanks for showing it Matt :D

Super looking Bowie. And that Doberman description fits it so well. It wouldn't draw the eye like it does, without the browning, it looks like it means business.

the plot thickens...
Mr. Lamey is getting REALLY GOOD, boys and girls. Up and comer? This is a guy to invest in, I believe.

Thanks all, ive been at it about 10+ years, but probably had more "re starts" than anyone in the custom knife world. Ive never "whined" about it, but am very greatfull for the patience of the knife collectors out there!

it might sound stupid but you have one of the nicest maker's stamps. i find some to be distracting.

true that, Keith.:)
