The Story of the two most uninformed campers ever

How could they not know that its constant daylight in alaska certain times of the year if you plan a trip like that, and who would call it an emergency by getting sunburned.

Remids me of people who call 911 because there was a mistake on their McDonalds order!

Stupid people. Sort of reminds me of why our sergeant told us not to lie out in the sun too long on the weekend, because if we got burned so bad we couldn't report, we'd be court-martialed for damaging government property. :)

hahahaha! that's funny. i was a bit unhappy about our last camping trip b/c of the wildlife but wouldn't have done something like that!

so... they traveled across the continent, got dropped, and within a day, were afraid of the... light? maybe d.c. residents shouldn't have firearms...

I guess they couldn't find shade? Everyday I tend to lean towards South Park's claim that 25% of the US is in fact retarded!

I'd hate to think what people like this would do when faced with real adversity...

They would cry. Then die.

I love that their names are in the article. I bet they were talking up their big manly expedition to anybody who would listen before they left. Serves them right.

For me the sadest part of that whole thing was that they got to go up there on a trip of a lifetime, something I have wanted to do all my life and have never had the means, and they blew it in a day.... to be able to go up there, and to not be prepared.... well they deserve to become low vault bear food.

Sigh.

Whatever all the costs were to come "rescue" them would be billed to them if I were running the show. I have an "in" with a private group that monitors these types of things and you would be surprised at the idiots that press the panic button and cause hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of costs. Some of them actually press the button just to see if it works. PLBs are just not for some folks. Those that would do something as this don't need one since it would be better for them to die in the wilderness and remove their genes from the pool.

First thing I thought of...

These idiots need to get a HUGE bill!
