There's a line between practicing no-spin throwing. . .

And looking like you are just heaving steel at some boards.

And it's a pretty fat line.

I'm nowhere near the line. Far far away from it.

Wow this is hard. I can see where it's all feel. I've got a greater appreciation of Ralph Thorn now.

For those thinking of trying - start CLOSE (3-6') and work back. I started at about 10-12'. Bad idea. I was doing 1 and 1.5 spins for a while. It wasn't until I got a few to stick and then tried from a few feet away that I understood it.

Wow. LOTS of practice goes into this.

Just have fun and try to strike a balance between relaxing and letting your hand do all the work on one hand, against paying attention and making adjustments on the other hand. Everything seems hard when you are first learning. Driving a car is hard the first time. But a few months later it is all automatic.

A week later and things are going a bit better. I was using too much overhand arm motion, I think. I struck a nice balance and was sticking pretty well. Lots of feel to this, but definitely natural. Like riding a bike. I can't wait until I figure it out.

Still need leather pants. ;)
