you know, i went to bladeauction.com and knife forums.com. let me tell you, i'm going to stay here at the forums and never go back. one had no search option. just a big list of items that i got tired of looking through, and at knife forums, the prices they wanted were incredible. alot higher than they are here. don't waste your time/money with them. if this has been brought up before then i apologize, but i just had to say something.

It's been brought up NUMEROUS times before. It's sort of an unwritten law not to discuss other forums IMO.
Have a good one.

Actually, it is unwritten policy not to discuss a particular forum, not all other forums. It is simply a friendly agreement to keep things friendly. ;)

Stephen,
It just seems impossible to keep the stuff from hitting the fan if you know what I mean. Things are invariably brought up and almost all of the forum threads seem to become locked.

Right. Discussions always seem to break down to flame wars and it doesn't benefit anyone. Kind of a shame, but it is better this way.

[Trollbait] But this is of course because Bladeforums is superior to kn...forums.com. [/Trollbait]

:D :D :D

I don't know..............

While BFC is a great source of info for us knifeknuts, KFC certainly rates as one fine knife forum.
Bladeauction on the other hand does have a search function but it's a knife auction board and not a knife information forum.

If I was ranking the forums mentioned I would rank BFC first, and KFC a close second and being second to BFC is not a bad thing.;)

Yeah, I mean...
Where ya gunna go when BF is down?;)

I like the civil discussion and information available on KF, but there isn't a tenth as much traffic there as here. It's still a nice place to hang out, I just spend a lot more time reading here because there's more going on.

That's EXACTLY the reason I hang out here most. The HIGH participation makes all the difference. The more the better.

When I see people complaining about the BF moderators on other threads I just figure they don't understand the SHEER volume of posts and issues they have to deal with on a day-to-day basis. Being a moderator here has to be like being a mayor of a large city!

Most of us only participate on SOME of the BF forums. Over-all, when I surf around there are a BUNCH of posts every day on all the differend sub-forums and I couldn't possibly keep up with all the discussions so I don't even try.

Roadrunner, from the look of your avatar you look like a blind man with a cane. Are you blind? Are you a blind knife user/collector? It's a joke, but I won't add a smiley icon in case you're REALLY blind, in which case, I'll feel like an idiot instead of a jokester!

fulloflead, sir

you know where to go when bf is down- I dont have to say it.:D
and I know that they miss you buddy.:) :D

Ok...So you all can address me as "Your Honor" from here on out.:D.

the other forums do have their place.
There are forums, ie Microtech, that aren't here and vis a vis.
Funny, no one mentioned CKDforums. Custom knife discussion forums.
I just found out about it a few months ago.
Some might say that talking about the different forums only causes problems, but it helps me to appreciate what we have.
Also, PLEASE LET ME OF ANY OTHER KNIFE FORUMS OUT THERE. Thanks all.

fulloflead, sadly yes, that's why I cut myself so much ;) :p . JK, that picture was taken halfway up a small mountain in Korea. The cane is a hiking staff, and it was sunny so I was wearing sunglasses. Actually, I'm legally blind without my glasses. 20/1000 with the right and 20/800 with the left. Translation; blind as a freakin' bat (without glasses). With the glasses, I'm about 20/25 in each eye. I even swim with my glasses unless I'm wearing contacts.

WOW! So you're using the forum through some sort of blind person software? You can't see the colors of knife handles?

These are all stupid questions, I'm sure.

What do you do for a living?

How do you decide what knives you like? Do you like designs by feel? Do you prefer thumb-stud openers or hole openers?

Do you carry a knife for personal defense?

What brands work best for you?

Excuse me for being curious.

It's so cool to see a blind person so into knives. Have you thought of taking up firearms?;)
It's not a stupid question. Many blind people have done just that.

No, no wait, I was kidding. I'm just really nearsighted. I don't personally know any blind people, into knives or otherwise. It would be interesting to know how a blind person could surf the web or use a computer at all, some sort of braille monitor maybe?

Come ON! They don't miss me! I've still got marks on my arse from that d*mn forum.;)
Now, I only talk about knives or guns on knife and gun forums and nothing else.:D
If you want to talk about other things meet me on rec.politics.;)

Yeah, yeah, you got me!:)
But blind people DO use computers. I don't know exactly WHAT the technology is, but it's out there.

Braille monitor? Is that like having braille on the keypads of drive-up ATM machines?
