Here's three of my favorite folders in my collection. On top is the J.W. Smith, LDC-5. I like this one so much, I have TWO, (great job J.W. and Les!). Smoothest opening folders I own and the craftsmanship is impeccable! You have to hold these things to believe the level of build quality.

Next is Kit's big, bad, BAK. Everyone knows Kit's superior build quality. I named this the "Dexter Special" after my ol' buddy, the irrepressible Dex Ewing because he also has one without the swedge and scale grooves. Semi-polished carbon fiber scales without the standard grooves, Stellite 6K blade without the standard swedge. It's big but it's so smooth and streamline and it feels like it's all one solid piece.

Last is Kit's Large Model #4 in CF and S90V. Wonderful stuff these! :)

You have a very nice trio their Gene.It would be pretty hard to go wrong with any of those.I really need to get to handle one of J.W. Smith's folders.

Thank you Stumpy. Yes indeed, check out a JWS folder as soon as you can. You won't believe how nice they are. My friend Capt. Mike Mahony talked me into going for one and I haven't looked back. Thank's Mike. :)

Nice knives Gene :) I looked through my knife bag and I simply can't pick three to post a picture of, the descision is too hard :D

I understand Mike my bud. If I had YOUR collection, I wouldn't be able to either! ;)

Gene, old friend, you've been doing well for yourself! Very nice knives, love the JWS, and the Carsons go without saying.

Hey Paul! Thank you. I've noticed lately that you've been doing pretty well YOURSELF! ;) Yes indeed, I am a BIG fan of J.W.'s stuff. These LDC-5's are much "beefier" in person than this one appears in the pic. They are built like a tank. Even the clips are stouter than most you see on custom's. His liner locks are some of the best there are. Rock solid! I'd put these up against ANY of the "latest rage" beefy folders out there that are selling for much more. Prices on his stuff are pretty reasonable now but I'm sure they won't stay that way long.

Dex, I guess maybe I shouldn't call it the "Dexter Special". After all, it doesn't even have a recurve blade!
