me and my mate were down the park throwing knives . i had a cheap peice of crap fury thrower with a "leather " (yeah right) washer handle , and a knife that was never made to be thrown . anyway , my mate threw my knife at the tree and it snapped off at the point where the blade met the tang . :jerkit: (it only had a very narrow tang to begin with) it only cost me $30 AUS dollars (cheap for here in australia , and accidents happen , so wasn`t angry) so anyway i threw the tang , it stuck in the tree. then i threw the blade , it stuck in the tree . then i got the knife not designed for throwing , found the balance point and stuck it perfectly . then my mate walks along this fence , and he heres this guy standing in his backyard calling the police to report two guys throwing knives at a tree. i was having fun , not hurting anyone . what annoys me to an extreme level is that there is nowhere legal to do this , and my backyard is not an option as theres not enough room . wanted to get this off my chest to some of the people in the know of throwing knives . thanks for listening guys.
i`m happy to see my throwing skills are improving with practice , this enthuses me and encourages me to keep practising . i stop if a car or person goes past , of course , not that i would put anybody in danger anyway.

Let's clarify that; you would stop if you see a car coming or a person walking by. But, what happens if you miss someone, or if some kid walks up directly behind your target? Does the area you are throwing in have a clear and visible backstop? Are you damaging public property; like living trees for instance?

It sucks that much of our freedoms are being lost, not so much through the legal system, as through endless suburban sprawl. It use to be that a short walk could take you to undeveloped area where anyone could hunt, hike, or fish. That is pretty much over with - it is getting hard to find a spot where you can even build an old fashion camp fire to toast a few marshmellow. That is modern life - well at least it comes with plasma TVs, the internet, and central air conditioning. :)

Try to find or create a knife throwing club where you can get together to enjoy your new found hobby. It will make things easier, safer, and alot more fun.

if i had somehwere legal to throw i would . stupid little graffiti taggers get purpose built walls to tag , yet they don`t cater for knife throwers AT ALL
