Hey, I actually heard about this site from Slinging.org org, if anyone is on their, this is drum_slinger :)
Anyway, I heard about the style that Ralph Thorn teaches in his book and Video, it sounds cool, anybody know the basics to it so I can contemplate it a little while I save up a little bit of money, I spent mine recently on gifts, lol

Get his video. I heard its easier to comprehend it compaired to the book.

Sorry, but i can't share his ideas. Hope you understand :)

I watched the videos from the combat throwing web site and they are really impressive. Its great to see something different which has such clear advantages. One thing I would note is that before carrying the size knives I would want to do combat with, I would certainly be carrying my pistol. In fact my CCW allows me to carry a pistol, but not to carry any knife over 3.5 inches. This is a silly aspect of CO law, but it makes the combat angle a bit moot for me. What I hear from the guys coming back from combat in the sandbox is that large fixed blade knives are rarely carried due to their weight and discomfort. That said, I think this style is going to become more and more popular, and that Ralph is a true pioneer. I'm going to give it a go, and will probably order the video and book.

Thanks for the kind words. Regarding combat, I have learned that everyone has their own individual opinions and that it tends to be an emotional and controversial subject, so I don't like to get involved in debates about it. I have devoted a lot of thought to the subject over the years and I give my opinions in my book, and leave it at that. If you're deeply interested in my style and want to get involved with some of our little ongoing activities, feel free to drop me a line; my contact info is on the dvd...

Ok, thanks for the reply. Seems like a sound policy. I figured you had heard those points many times in the past and I appreciate that you didn't take offense.
