here are some video's of me throwing my FBMLE, and other fun stuff.
This is at 25'

CS GI Tanto (with the top guard ground off, and a high tec electrical tape handle), and CS Rifleman Hawk from 25 feet.

this is the same hawk from 41 feet. (could not get a better angle video, without the wife getting in the muddy garden and dirtying up her new shoes and trampling the pop's garden).

one more just for fun. MP-5 fun! (this was during Christmas break, but thought I would add it for fun)

I also posted these in a couple other sub forums

Throwing video's of a hawk at various distances. Knifes (ie sharp pointy steel objects)! Machine guns!

Not a single response? What the crap?

I don't get it?

What does a guy have to do around here to get a response? Club a baby seal? Because I will do it, I will walk outside right now and club the first baby seal I see! You would not want that on your conscience would you?

Cool, but umm, why throw the 'hawk with the bit "backwards" like that? Is that how it's supposed to be done?

Baby seal -- tastes like chicken. Go ahead and club one, as long as you send me a possibles bag and pair of slippers made from the hide.

hey let the baby seals alone man i completely missed this thread:p:D

as far as throwing the hawk backwards like that on the cs dvd set they show how that is good for close distance throwing so the handle won't hit first.

are you crazy man throwing that busse:eek: i have one and know it can take it but dang!

For throwing the hawk (goes for any ax) there are distances where you throw it forward facing, and back facing. You get more sticks from more distances if you go back and forth like that. For example at close range (6' feet or so, back facing gets a stick every time). Move back to about 12 feet or so and front facing sticks, move back to 25' back facing, 30' front again, 41' back to rear facing throw. If you do a throw from a distance and it bounces off the back of the hawk (in my case the hammer poll) just throw with the edge facing the opposite way the next time, if you rotation is the same it will stick.

real close reverse (if you are in between throwing from front facing and rear facing you can hold higher up on the handle and let it slide out, which will slow the rotation)

Crossada, that FBMLE is a user, why not throw it. I chop with it. It already has beauty marks, now it just has a few more. For sure it is the most expensive pointy object I have ever thrown.

bigfatty, have you ever tried to throw one of the ATC hawks? I have a few of the VTACs (love that piece) and was wondering if you had any experience with them.

I have not thrown any of the ATC hawks. I have heard that the wooden handled versions aren't as good for throwing (unless you have lots of replacement handles). I would like to see that same Head design with a larger eye, and thicker handle, with a slip joint fit. The synthetic handled ones would likely be fine. (breaking handles is not too bad, as long as you can replace them easily). I have seen some original Lagaina vids where he throws them with no problems and those original versions were wood handled.

I have broken one or two (when you get lazy and don't take the set screw out, and get a handle first hit from a 40 foot throw it will split the handle all the way down).
that design seems like it would make for twice the sticking potential. Either way makes for fun.

Interested in a video of me throwing a 'Cold Steel' Frontier Hawk from 15-20 feet?

If yes, I will post it here...

Interesting vids, particularly throwing a hawk backwards...I guess you learn something new every day.

Hey man, when you live in Washington you just don't get scared of stuff like that...;):p

The first time I saw someone throw a Busse I think I just about passed out!
Now I think I have seen it all, hanging out with River-8 at the mischeif and folks where throwing an AK.... yes an AK....

Anyway, Bigfatty, your vids are great!! I am just getting into the hawk thing and your vids have inspired me to get a CS Rifleman hawk. Cool MP5 fun as well.......
