More progress on the bushcraft knives today. Thank goodness for quality checkering files. :thumbup:
First, the spines are ground perpendicular. (waterjet cutting leaves a slight taper - you can see that the spines have a curved line on them...where the perpendicular part ends and the as-cut taper begins)
Next step is to take them to 400 grit to remove scratches (can't do this after the thumbramp has been put on). Then I spray the spine with Dykem marking fluid and scratch out where I want the thumbramp to start and finish.
Then it's cut, cut, cut....long, slow, laborious work. But simple! :thumbup:
