just got it in, and I love this folder! Wish it had a better blade, like VG10 or S30V! Sprint run??

I like my TiSalsa too, heavy for a small knife. The blade finish is super.
I tell you ATS34 is a great blade steel, you won't have a problem with it.

Gosh, I hope so. ATS34 is a premium steel, equal to or better than 154CM (by some peoples consideration).

Let us know how it fairs.

Actually, that is the big difference when comparing the same steel, the heat treatment.

It all depends on the edge geometry and the heat treat.

I've seen 420 outperform S30V, so steel isn't the only thing;)

Glad you're enjoying dannyvi, it was going to gather dust on my shelf, it's better in your hands.

AS far as I am concerned it is THEE Salsa. The others may have a bit of aesthetic appeal but the Titanium version is a keeper for me. I just traded my extra one to Scott so I know it got a good home and I know he appreciates it. But the one I have is sweet. The Titanium handle truly is a "day & night" difference between it and it's aluminum handled counterparts.

For a small knife it fits my hand almost as good as a custom. Now keep in mind that Small KNives are not really my forte. I tend to like Tactical, Hawkbills and good old hard use knives. So that little Ti Salsa really had to prove a lot to me to gain my hard to get approval.

If you're going to get a Salsa then just be patient and hold out for a Titanium one. You won't regret it. Now I wil admit that I do like the looks of the Cranberry colored Aluminum one but The True unadulterated appearance of the Titanium will indeed grow on you. It even retailed about twice as high as the standard models. Trust me there was a reason for it. Get the TI

Never having been much of a Salsa fan, I set aside this prejudice when Sierra Trading Post was clearing the CE Ti Salsas for a shamefully low price. Durned glad I ordered one. This thing positively reeks quality. Crispy sharp edge, smooth action, rock solid lockup. Overall the fit and finish is top notch. I'm looking forward to future offerings from Spyderco's Taiwan maker. The dude obviously knows what he's doing. :)

I have a green salsa in my car and it is also very good! I keep it there in case I forget to pack ablade when I go out. I had ground the back of the blade so it is almost like a persian and I think it looks good. Yes, this titanium salsa is definitely a keeper! I think the best foders Spyderco makes are the Salsa,Walker(the VG10 version) and the Lil temp. The walker should also have been in titanium!:thumbup:Oh, almost forgot the Calypso Jr in the ZDP version. These are my best and first Spydie folders!!

Consider this, the C22 "Swiss Made" carbon fiber Walker, and the C27 Jess Horn, two knives considered by many to be the highest quality ever made by Spyderco, both use ATS-34.

Also don't forget the "R" knife which also has ATS-34 is now to me one of the top 5 all time best made knives in the CLASSIC line. There is also a sentimental favorite of mine being the C-50 Centofante II which uses ATS-34. Nothing wrong with ATS-34>> it still ranks high in my book. One EDC that I periodically carry has ATS-34.
