OK Time for a chill pill.
Here is what we are going to do:
The Collectors forum will be archived and NOT combined with this
forum. After it has been archived, the Collectors forum will be closed down.
I created this particular forum because I knew they (this and the collectors forum) were different. Now that
the collectors forum obviously does not get any traffic we need to do
something with it. The suggestion was made to possibly combine the two
forums. My bad, and I should of stopped the thought when it first came out,
however we all make mistakes.
Nuff said on that issue.
Now about Les.
Les has been a great moderator here and we truly appreciate his help in the
forums. He is very welcome to stay on as moderator of this forum. We did
NOT squeeze him out in any way. Any thought of a hidden agenda is
wrong. You all know me, I don't B U L L S H I T and I don't lie. If I
wanted Les gone I would come in here and tell you and I would tell you why.
I want Les to stay on but it appears he does not want to share his position
of moderator for whatever reason. That is his decision and I will not put
words in his mouth as to why he does not want to share the responsibility
of moderating a forum.
We have HUGE plans for the forums as a whole, and many of those
plans are currently taking shape behind the scenes. The new software allows
us to have multiple moderators for each forum and I am going to use this
feature for the benefit of the forums. Having several moderators in the key
forums give
you, the member, several different perspectives on the same subject. This
particular forum will have at least two and at most four moderators. I
would like to have the expertise of a couple of dealers, a volume customer
and even a maker or two. This would make this forum very objective and no
points of view would be slanted in favor of a particular maker.
As this forum grows we must make changes periodically, and those not
willing to accept and at least adapt to the changes may not fit in to the
overall objectives of this forum. Our goal here is to create the best place
in the world to gather information on knives and we have already done that.
No one can argue our success, no one. However, realistically, we cannot
remain static and expect to continue to grow, changes have to be made or
else we'll wither and die.
As you know, we've recently upgraded the software and can now have multiple
moderators in each forum. We need multiple moderators for several reasons:
Because of the traffic we have,
the fact a moderator may become ill or even die,
or a moderator may be at a show and
because it offers a built in system of checks and balances.
Anyone in business knows that you must maintain a systems of checks and
balances to have a balanced overall structure that does not crumble at the
loss of one. Simple as that. No hidden agenda, no hard feelings, just plain
ole business decisions.
Please do not read into any decision I make here. A simple email will
normally clear things up. Let's move on, talk knives and have fun
