In this weeks issue of time there is a US Military soldier (not sure of what rank/armed force he is with) and Ill be damned if that isn't a folding knife clipped to his chest, this is the COVER photo. It looks custom maybe? It might not even be a knife but it has what looks to be a thumbstud and what looks to be the top of a blade. ALso the handle looks like it is milled with holes ala TNT style? Anyone else have a copy of time? I could only find a tiny picture of the cover on their website, too small to make out the knife in or even what type of gun the soldier is carrying (m-16 looks like) but the magazine cover shows the knife vividly. Am I the only one?

Hi. Just went to look. CRKT will be happy to know it looks like the 1* (One ass to Risk) series of knives. Not sure of their real name off hand. But it's there. Good for our guys...
 
The knife is most likely a CRKT M16 series.
 
The "1*" series are called the H.R.E. knives. It stands for high risk environment. They make them in green-mil, blue-P.D., and red-F.D. I know they have them for the M-16 and Apache lines, not sure about others.

I work on a govt IT project that sometimes puts me in contact with Federal LEO types. The most common folder I see is the M16 series.
