How come this does not have a VG10 blade??

It's made in Tiwan and not in Japan. Japan keeps it's supply of VG10 in country.

I thought the Titanium Salsa WAS made in Japan, and that it was the only one that was. I thought that was the reason it had ATS-34 steel?

Maybe I'm wrong.

It is made in Taipei, Taiwan. As a rule, Spyderco uses the best locally made steel that fits the price point. In this case they chose ATS-34. I don't know if it made at a foundry in Taiwan, but I assume so.
