Hello all my fellow knifenuts and slippie lovers. I'm new to slipjoints and want to get a feel for different makers work. I'm asking for you all to post pics of your work or you collection. I already want to buy customs and have one order pending plus I'm looking at buying a knife from a online dealer that's a custom slipjoint. I thank you for your time and I think this thread will be enjoyable or helpful to oldtimers and noobs alike.

PS I'm not being lazy I have searched extensivly and seen a lot of the great makers that post here Menefee,Davison,Coats,Erickson,Both the Boses(out of my league for now) and a few others but being that i'm in love with slipjoints I want to see more. Thank you and I don't mind seeing more from those makers listed because their work is incredible.

Hi Steelsnob,
Welcome to the nicest corner of Bladeforums.
As a gold member, you might search by pattern in this forum only. There is often a mix of production and customs sampled in the thread. For example, I think the Sodbuster thread has a number of custom samples posted by Blues.

Have fun.

Ed

Here are the only customs I own.

From top to bottom -
Bret Dowell
Don Morrow
Hiroaki Ohta
Kerry Hampton

This thread should get you started. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=521567

You might also want to take a look at the Bose and Kerry Hampton threads.

There are a bunch of great makers who post on the forum regularly.

Mike Alsdorf, Rick Menefee, Todd Davison, Ken Coats, Ken Erickson and others are always putting new stuff up for sale and they are great values.

Thanks guys. That's some very nice work Cubane.

Incredible collection Kamagong! That Dowell Swayback is killer! How do you like the Ohta? I'm looking at getting one of his knives.

Absintheur thank you I burned through the makers sales forum a couple days ago.

SteelSnob you should definitely pick up one of Bret Dowell's knives. I got a swayback last week and love it!

I'm not promoting any of the knife purveyor sites, but if you talk to them and let them know what type of custom you are looking for, usually they will come back with something pretty close (for a price, of course). Bob Glassman at Custom Knife Gallery of Colorado, Michael Donato at Knifepurveyor.com, Paul Shindler at knifelegends.com, Gary Levine Fine Knives. Just to name a few, but the list goes on.

Thanks. The swayback is my dress knife, for Sundays, special occassions, and the like.

I really like the Ohta. I haven't used it yet, but it was love at first sight. You won't go wrong with one of his knives.
