Am I strange for wanting to sell/trade all of my other knives to acquire only Hinderer knives?
It's like if I could take the 12 or so other production knives I own and sell or trade them all to get 2-3 more Hinderer knives, I think I would...
Tell me I'm not losing my mind...

Do any of you own only Hinderer knives? What's the feeling like? :p

*EDIT* Forgot to put this originally, but I do have a Hinderer XM-18 already, which is why I made this post in the first place :)

I have yet to pull the trigger its just tough for me to justify paying a grand for a $500 knife! Ill get there in time no worries.

Get a Hinderer XM folder. You won't be disappointed.

I have some Hinderers and a Chris Reeve Umnumzaan. I had the Umnumzaan for about 4 months and so loved it......Then I got my first Hinderer XM-18 3.5"....it was more than love at first site. Just something about the feel of a Hinderer in your hand. Maybe I am nuts but will keep buying them when I can.

No. You're not nuts. Over the years as your "hobbies" evolve you will sell or trade items in order to obtain what you find you really want. I applaud your good taste and eye for quality.
when you acquire your Hinderer your hand will thank your eye.;)

I've got a Hinderer XM-18 3.5" Spanto flipper with Blue/Black G10 (pic has been posted elsewhere in the Hinderer pages here) This is the reason why I got the urge to just sell off all of my other knives and continue to buy more Hinderer knives. I can't just have one, right!? Just wanted to be sure I wasn't going crazy.

I did exactly that about 8 yrs ago. I sold off my entire collection and Began My hunt for Hinderer knives. It has been a long journey , but I now have 20+ customs in my collection. Enjoy the madness !!!

No one said you were not going crazy, we welcome all to the club.

Well said, sir.
Guess I've gotta just embrace the crazy and enjoy the madness as ibewno3 has said!
Still unsure about unloading my whole collection, but I absolutely will be getting myself more Hinderer knives in the future.
I'm actually hoping to get an XM-18 to give my best friend as a wedding gift and I already know that if I can get one for him I better not even open it because it's going to be that much harder to gift it after seeing it and holding it :D

Fish, call me nuts or what not.. But if I had to articulate in writing why get a Hinderer XM folder it would be a total disservice. My recommendation to Ramiel is get one or go to one of the knife shows and handle one and you will understand.
I'm no expert in folders but I have used them long enough to know that I will always own a Hinderer XM knife.

Thanks fellas for the comments. It has been a long journey chasing these gorgeous ladies, the Fatty Slicer I scored at the NY show, the Spanto in California and the Spearpoint in Atlanta.

Cheers!

My answer to Ramiel is YES you are strange to only want Hinderer knives.
This is an illness for which it would seem the cure would be to buy more than one...
But I am on my second and I still don't feel like I am any closer to being cured.

Me too! Thousands in production BS until I bought my first XM-18 and the search for "the perfect folder" and I collided. I only own a couple of cheap Cold Steel folders that aren't worth selling. 2 Benchmades that I'll sell toward a Generation 4 slicer.

The rest are a couple of Sanrenmu 710's for the mail and 2 SAKs for mail and little tasks (I keep them scattered around my 2 "man areas"). The rest are fixed blades and 5 Hinderer XMs. I even sold my Sebbies since my XM's are built with the same amount of prescion, feel better, look better and are much cooler plus they have flippers. :D

I'm keeping my Spyderco Military since it actually splits hair and I hand sharpened it - kind of a landmark for me.

Folders other than Hinderers that will stay with me by spring are 6 and worth about $200 or less - total.

I had 2 xm24's at seperate times and sold them both because of the weak detent. kept on collecting spydercos and finally decided to go for an XM18 non flipper from monkey edge(gen 4). Im in love.... it has kicked everything else out of my pocket. I think i have sold around 10 spydercos to fund the first 18 and another gen 4 flipper slicer is also on the way. so by weeks end ill have 2 xm18 in both the spanto and slicer flavors! the only spyderco i still collect is the Para 2(i have every varient x2)... and my users. The xm18 is by far the best folder i have ever handled!
