to those who have or will get the bm 49 01

I'm going to give the 49-01 a try; not the 49SPL, though...... I got an email from Vance telling me about a 'sweet spot' on the 49 so a user can, being careful, manipulate without fear of injury. Pretty neat, eh? ;)
 
the 49 spl flies well, flips well and feels great.. love those heavy handles :). the thin hollow blade snapped in half when i tried to pry with it though.
 
Flip it, the only knives I keep in mint condition are a few of my limited edition MT autos, and a custom fixed blade :D

No, but I heard Snipe's got the Golden Gate Bridge for sale :)

I believe the "flip" and the "fly". Common, you wouldn't think Snipe will use the "pry".

There are rumors that the SPL flies more neatly than the Hibben 2 thrower. Apparently the wave shape enchances the Bernouli effect dramatically.
 
And it crinches right through cinder blocks like a Cold Steel San-Mai Tanto and it comes out scratchless and can still slice a tomato like this!!

Maann...now I'm really kickin' myself for passing on it. Well, on the plus side, it's not as though Ginsu knives can't be had at a reasonable price.
 
I've been away for a while. What is 49-01 vs 49SPL? I know you are talking about the custom KRISS ...

S: I thought you were joking :eek: ?? My heart dropped .. and got (sliced)(sliced) by my cheap rostfrei :p
 
49SPL has HP blade and handles, the 49-01 has a satin finished blade and handles, price difference of $200 (49SPL is $800, 49-01 is $600).
 
sorry I am planning to put my old jaguar blades and reuse the handles.. I thnk they are stronger or prying.
