Finally decided to buy a Tomberlin fixed blade. I have to say, I am REALLY impressed with the fit and finish. Handle and guard pairing is perfect, blade is flawless and it's a beautiful knife.

Not only is Brion a great knifemaker, he's also a gentleman. Nice job on this one.

Thanks for the great knife Brion and thanks for the enjoyable forging lesson.

take care,
Brett

Agreed on all counts - that's a very nice piece. Brion's work has always been very good and keeps getting better. I recently picked up a bowie of his and was VERY impressed by the fit, finish and feel.

Yeah, I thought I should probably get one of his knives before he gets big and has to charge enough to keep his order list to a manageable length...;)

Seriously, I forged my first blade today with the help of Brion. He was very patient and helpful as I fumbled my way around the anvil. I am hooked now. Look out Brion.

thanks again,
brett

Good for you on forging your first knife Brett - and kudos to Brion for taking the time to show you how.

thanks Roger. I will head back to Brion's in a few weeks or so to grind and heat treat it. I can't thank him enough for helping me start something I have thought about for years.

Thank you all for the kind words. I must say that Brett did a good job of forging and turned out a nice looking hunter blade. I think it is going to be a good looking knife. A couple weeks down the road and he will be ready for the guard and handle. Brett is a good study and picks things up quickly. Again thank you all for the comments and Brett, I look forward to your next visit.

Sincerely,

Brion

Hi Brion,
I am excited to see what it looks like finished. I spent a good deal of time envisioning in my mind. We'll see how it pans out.

Talk to you soon.
Brett

That is the one great thing about knifemaking, you can turn a dream into reality and hold it in your hands. If it is awful, just call it a nightmare. :)
Seriously, a good looking knife from a very good man for a very good friend.

Hi Ray,
I couldn't agree more. It is a real beauty of a knife. I can't wait to see what my creation looks like. I hope it is one of many in my future.

Good luck in Mesa Ray. I LOVE the damascus pocket medicine. I plan to post some pics on here soon. It's a beauty.

Take care,
Brett

I went to Brion's site. Do any of the other readers have any problem with opening the thumbnails to larger images? I was unable to get large images.
