All,

This is a simple piece that Tommy had at the ABS Reno show. I didn't purchase it then, but I couldn't really off my head. Tommy and I are in discussion wrt another project, and in the course of our exchanges I ended up buying this little beauty:

This is a double exposure of both sides of the knife. The grinds are impeccable, and so is the F&F. The design is of course super classic and no less classy.

nice!!! I'm surprised it survived Reno. Good catch.

It was not inexpensive, and the general push in Reno is for superb and detailed damascus pieces....unless your name is Murray Carter, the resident ABS version of Ron Popeil.:D

Damn Joss - that Coop photo thread is paying off for you - and us - big time! :)

That is just a beautiful piece. Like Joe, I can scarcely believe it went back from Reno, but I am often amazed at some gems that don't sell at shows. I would have happily gone home with that one. I just may have to speak with Tommy about a fossil ivory version.

The fit and finish on the blade and round the ricasso look superb! The lack of a ferrule or collar is a pet peeve of mine, but other than that its great.

Pictures are coming on to, well lit!

A style that I particularly like. This one is very nicely done. I prefer them with walrus ivory handles, but stag looks great as well.

To the comments regarding Tommy's price, all I'll say is that he's still working on how to price his work. ;) He sold his larger, more ambitious pieces at the show, which were fairly priced IMHO.

I agree that mast. ivory & a ferrule or spacer would be nice (as would a silver sheath ), but this is the traditionnal look, and it is a fairly simple piece.

I'm still trying to figure out how you "sculpt" handle bolts to fit the contours of stag without messing up the scales.
