We got tired of hearing Tony whine and moan about wanting an OD Green blade with orange handle, so here it is. This will become a standard line item for the RC-3 and RC-4. The only difference form this picture will be the production models will have a textured powder coat since it wears better than this smooth finish.

So, this OD blade with orange G10 handles and the Desert Tan with green canvas handles will be added as standard line items. We figure we should be able to start shipping these sometime around Blade Show.

Neck knife will be coming in this same color and only offered in OD.

Oh, hell yeah.
Hope it comes with a plain blade, too (what I take from "line item" is it's just a selection along with blade type?).

What color is the sheath (black kydex would go well)?

When we add a color variation as a line item then it covers every configuration we build: plain edge, serrated, standard pommel, modified pommel, etc. The RC-3 will come with the same sheath system it currently comes with but the sheath color will change to better match the handle color. The RC-4 will come with the same system it does now.

Just as a side note here, quick turn around with a new model is something we could never do with Ontario. They would drag their feet, waste time ordering parts and it almost never failed that the fastest we could ever get a new model out was no less than 9 months from the time we had a prototype. Then, if we tried to offer a customer upgrade it would be shot down by management. With us investing our own money and doing our own thing, RAT Cutlery has leaped light years ahead in quality and production turn around times. We can finally put out what we want without the corporate bullshit. Rowen is kicking ass on this stuff for us. Even with the minor delays that we've had on things like the RC-6, most all of them are due to either sheathing issues or Mike and I changing something at the last minute. It's absolutely not a knife production problem like it was in the past.

OPTIONS OPTIONS.. I LOVE OPTIONS!!! This will be a great addition for those deep woods adventures, For sure hard to lose. Thanks Jeff & Mike, you guys listened and delivered!

knock it off Jeff!!!!

Good news: I have a wedding anniversary coming up. Looks like an RC4 might be in order in a few months. Might even diverge and go part serrated.

Ha, my wife was admiring the RC-4 this morning and actually stated: 'too bad it doesn't come in a smaller 3" thinner size with an orange handle, cause I would like something like that....'

I got all excited and showed her the desert tan and she shook her head saying - nope orange handle....

see thats what i am talking about...a company that really listens to he customer...there are so few nowadays...good show gents!!

I'm really glad Tony got what he was hoping for. Rat Cutlery is incredibly responsive to its customers' desires! (Thanks again for the rounded pommel versions, for example).

What I'd love is the green blade with the green handles. Maybe if I buy two -- one green and one tan -- Tony will trade me his green slabs for my orange ones.

I am glad Tony knows how to whine and moan. Sounds like Rowen and RAT are the dream team. Thanks for the options.

I Like! I got the perfect orange handle Tramontina that needs a friend.
