Top of Texas Knives is proud to be the U.S. agent for George Tichbourne Knives. George
Tichbourne's Custom Knives are being showcased in the Custom Knife section of the Top of Texas Knives. George has been making knives for about ten years and is an active member of the Canadian Knifemaking Guild and has been on the board for the last three years. George is also an active member here at Blade Forums. He has lots of great advice for new and experienced knifemakers.
Carol Tichbourne, George's wife, who is a very talented photographer, takes all the pictures of George's knives. Knifemakers who are looking for quality photography should contact Carol. George makes high quality, strong and very dependable knives. We are proud to be associated with George and Carol Tichbourne. So take a moment to swing by and check out these excellent knives (I really like the one with the meteorite bolsters, I hope my wife reads this).
Click here www.toptexknives.com then click on George Tichbourne's Knives banner to go directly to his page. Y'all be sure and give George a holler and tell him what you think. Y'all take care. You can also see more of George's Knives on his website http://www.tichbourneknives.com

We tried the system out yesterday afternoon and it works without a hitch. The need to have inventory in stock was emphasized so its back to the shop for me to ensure that some of everything is on the shelf at all times. I normally try to keep all blade styles heat treated, ready for handles in case the customer wants a different handle material but now it seems that I must keep some of everything on the web page completely finished just like a regular store.

All I can say is this beats the heck out of Snipe hunting . Really I think this is great. You are Top of Texas Chris. George your work is outstanding .

Thank you Steve, so far it has been well accepted by everyone that I have talked to. The like the convenience and access to custom knives without the usual long wait for payments to arrive by mail before I can ship. This way I can ship in stock items the next business day. The downside is that I am on holidays for the next two weeks from the day job but I have to work at least 5 days to increase my inventory to be able to give this service.

Hey Steve, coming from a professional Snipe hunter as yourself, I will take this as a compliment. George, again a big thanks to you and Carol, things are looking great. I would like to thank the forumites for the positive response.

I ordered a couple of Mr. Tichbourne's knives after seeing his work on the Top of Texas website ( www.toptexknives.com ). I just received these knives and I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase. George's knives are very well designed and exquisitely crafted…the materials and workmanship are top-notch. I'm particularly impressed with the Tichbourne chef's knife; I've already used this blade to prepare a couple of meals and it is truly a delight to use! The Bowie knife I ordered is a thing of beauty…I may end up treating it as a collector's piece but it is certainly more than sufficiently robust to make a great "using" knife. Also, it seems to me that these knives are a tremendous value when compared to other hand-made work that I've priced.

I really appreciate the new relationship between George and Top of Texas Knives. George's products are first-rate and he is a pleasure to deal with. He was extremely responsive to all of my questions and kept me informed of the status of my order from the moment it was placed until I received the knives. Chris and Marti at Top of Texas also deserve kudos for their efforts to make these fine blades more accessible to the knife buying public. Ordering one of George's blades through Top of Texas is simplicity itself. Once I had determined the pieces that I wished to order I simply contacted ToT with the appropriate information and Marti took care of the rest! Professional, friendly service was received from all parties involved in the transaction (of course, I've come to expect this whenever I deal with Chris and Marti

). I hope this partnership works out well for both Tichbourne Knives and Top of Texas; they're all good people and I would recommend them to anyone!

The efficiency of our joint postal services never ceases to amaze me, three day delivery for a parcel is unheard of when it has to cross the border.

I am very happy that you like the knives. That Bowie is a working knife not a wall- hanger. I am always a little disappointed when a customer decides to put a knife in his collection instead of going out and using it because they will not get to appreciate it's full potential. On the other hand I am very proud that a collector would think enough of my work to collect it for it's artistic merits.

Use them in good health.

This setup with Top of Texas is going to work very well for all parties involved.

My thanks to Chris and Marti for making this work as well as it does.

Gee, George…if it will make you feel better, I'll be happy to go out and clear some brush with my new Bowie
smile.gif
. I was also amazed by how quickly these knives arrived! Seriously, I'm certain that George is absolutely correct about the ability of his knives to function as field/camp knives; it's just that I'm too much of a weenie to take any chance on marring the beautiful mirror-finished polish of this blade (it is the most brilliantly, finely finished knife that I own). It is also one of the heftiest, most solidly-constructed Bowies in my collection; I am more than confident that it is capable of withstanding the rigors of field use. I'll try and convince myself to go out and "abuse it" at my next opportunity…

You may have noticed from my earlier post that I had no qualms about using one of George's kitchen knives (which is just as beautifully finished as the Bowie)…fat guys like me are not inclined to let aesthetics come between us and our meals! Anyone who enjoys preparing food is doing themselves a disservice if they don't try one of George's chef's knives. I've owned and used several "high-end" production chef's knives and their balance and edge does not even come close to the Tichbourne knife I just received.

Enough blatant hucksterism…my dinner's just about ready and the fat man's gotta eat…
