Ran into this little one the other day. love the lines of it, might have a maker do one up similarly. there are always things to change to make a knife perfect for one's self, but i like it. being tops however i am sure it is 1/4inch thick though which i'm not a fan of. also the price was surprisingly low. interesting.
your thoughts?

Not bad.
If I were to pick a Tops knife for woods duty it would be the Pasayten Light.

Not mine. Pic is from web.

I have the Pasaytan and it's a great knife. It's 154CM and a little on the hard side, but is a great camp knife.

TOPS' UTE's and other knives that might possibly fit the "bushcraft" bill are a little too thick IMHO. I like that most are 1095 and heat-treated well, but most of TOPS knives are sharpened prybars:(

Now that Steak knife does look like a good utility blade...

How timely! I was just looking at the Pasaytan the other day, thinking it looked like an excellent candidate in my never-ending search for the perfect camp knife. I'm trying to track one down in the optional orange micarta handles right now. :D

 That Tops Payesen looks like the Busse SAR5:eek: or is it the other way around:foot: Anyone with both care to take a 'side by side photo':D

Yeah, sure was. It's really a good design...wide, thin blade, comfortable handle.

I recently pick up an almost new TOPS UTE XL hunters point knife. I've been using it for general camp duty and I really like it. The blade is a little thick but it doesn't seem to hurt anything. I've done food prep, carved sticks for dead-falls, and gotten my kindling ready for the evening fire. I have not been able to find much in the way of reviews on this knife but I think it makes a pretty good all-a-rounder. I'd love to see a serious bush-craft review or at least some reviews from someone a lot more knowledgeable than myself.

Steve's Pasayten is a very nice camp knife. Very handy blade, and the 1/8 blade works really well at the cutting board. For "bushcraft" I like pointy blades so my favorite of their's for that application is the Mohawk Hunter, but my head is a little screwed up and I like a little bit of sharpened and pointy prybar is my bushcraft knife :D

I had a TOPS BOB Fieldcraft

The Becker BK 16 is a lighter and easier to use knife

I have had my eye on a TOPS BOB for a while. Was gifted one a while back, and got rid of it because I was into fighters. Now my taste has changed a little more towards bushcrafting and working on leaving the kitchen sink at home when I head out. Would you say the BK16 is a better suited knife than the BoB or Pasaytan for general camp chores?

My typical knife load right now (changes very often until I find the right mix for me)

1. TOPS RTAK II or Junglas on my pack
2. Mora 2000 w/ neck sheath that I am never more than 2 steps from
3. ESEE 6 for heavier camp work.

I am looking to replace the ESEE and MORA with ONE knife. Have narrowed it down to the Pasaytan, BOB, or BK16. Any advice from someone with experience?
