*TRADED*
I have a Rake and a Blur I'd like to trade.
The Rake is a composite blade (Sandvik 14C28N on the spine, CPM-D2 on the cutting edge) with perfect grinds, perfect lockup and no blade play. It's an assisted opening flipper with thumbstuds. The assisted opening is very nice, not too fast, not too slow. This knife opens and locks very nicely. It has a tip-up/down, left or right side pocket clip and carries nice and deep in the pocket. The scales are G-10 (not overly grippy) and it has full stainless steel liners. The jimping on the top of the blade is nice, but not too jagged. The choil jimping (which is also the liner lock) is nice and deep, making for a solid connection with your thumb when closing. The clip goes on thicker material pants like jeans and Carrharts very easily. This knife is really nice but the handle design makes it a tad too short for my very large hands. I'd say it's in 99% condition, discounting only for the fact that it's been carried a couple of times. It's never cut anything and has no flaws.
The Blur (no pictures, sorry!) is a 14C28N, plain edge, black blade model. The lockup on this one is nice and tight, no discernible play, locks perfectly for a liner lock, and the assisted opening is so fast, it just about comes out of your hand! This knife is a ton of fun to flick open and even though I've never cut anything with it, I have flipped it a few dozen times because it's too fun not to! This one came really, really sharp from the factory and has a terrific edge, with nice, even grinds. It's in 99% condition, with the box. I really like how grippy the handle material inserts are, and the aluminum scales make it balance really well in-hand. The re-curve is nice too, putting a lot of cutting force in the blade's sweet spot. I'd keep this one, but the pocket clip isn't reversible and I'm a lefty! It does switch for tip-up/down carry, though.
If I can't personally examine a knife before I buy it, I make sure I can swap it out or have it sorted out in case it isn't perfect. I can tell you that I planned to keep both of these knives, but the handle size on the Rake and the irreversible clip on the Blur are deal-brakers for me. All of that to say, these two knives are perfect. If you buy/sell/trade a lot of folders from different brands, you know they all have their quirks. Sometimes a framelock may be too light and fold up on you, or a lockback might be too stiff, things like that. These two knives have ZERO issues folks, they are the best examples of quality I've seen from Kershaw in a lot of knives lately.
I'd love to trade both of these knives for a Benchmade AXIS lock folder or maybe a Spyderco which is lefty friendly. I've been wanting a Paramilitary 2. I am open to other offers as well so let me know what you've got. These two are going to make somebody really, really happy!
