Most of the "traditional" balis I have seen feature what I would call an elongated clip point. Is this the correct Phillipino style or a westernization?

If it is not, what is?

If it is, why would you want a tanto ot kris blade?

And don't kris blades hurt when you bounce them off you knuckles?

It is true that you will get cut if you bounce the back of a kris blade off your hands, you just have to torque your wrist a bit to not let the blade touch you. BTW a kris blade is double sided. Tantos are awesome, it's a different blade style, it's considered armor piercing, and they look cool.

I think in many Philipino arts the Kriss blade is a very traditional weapon, but I dont know about the balisong. If I were to take a guess, my vote would be the utility blade or the 'rambo' type blade. Traditional or most common, that is up to debate.
