I picked this one up last week and I've found little about it other than that the Trail of Tears Motor Cycle club had them made. I can't be sure if they were done by Buck or someone else, but the serial number etch (0114/2003) looks just like the ones Buck does. The oak (I think/) inlays have been laser ingraved with what appears to be an eagle in flight with a couple of feathers below that. The blade has a print on it as you can see with "Alabama-Tennessee" in tiny letters above "Trail" on the blade and something below "Tears" that I can't read even with a magnifying glass.

The sheath doesn't have anything to lead me to believe that it was made by Buck and has "Harley Davidson official licensed product" on the belt loop.

Has anyone seen these before and is there a story behind them? I can't find them listed in the Special Projects list for either 2002, 2003 or 2004.

Got me on this one . But who was that biker guy who used to post often here with a funny sense of humor . He's been a member for years . He had one of these knives in his Photobucket file . I believe he went thru heart surgery a year ago . DM

I did a search and came up with two threads from 2004 about them, both by tattoo223. It doesn't make alot of sense though. 2003 of them with the anvil stamp? Mine and the one being talked about in the threads are both date stamped with a T.

Re>>Trail Of Tears 110T INFO

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HI EVERYONE; I DID A LITTLE RESEARCH ON THE "TRAIL OF TEARS BUCK 110T" IT WAS A PROJECT DONE FOR THE "TRAIL OF TEARS MOTOR CYCLE ORGANIZATION" AND THERE WHERE 2003 KNIVES PRODUCED WITH THE ANVIL DATE STAMP ALL OF WHICH ARE SOLD. AS AN EX SHOVELHEAD H/D RIDER OF MANY YEARS AGO BEFORE ALL OF THE JOINTS IN MY LEGS AND FOOT ARE DEGENERATING DUE TO SEVERE DEGENERATIVE JOINT DESEASE AND KNOWING THE PERILS OF RIDING THE KNIFE WAS MADE IN MEMORY OF "MARK" WHO I ASSUME WAS TAKEN IN AN ACCIDENT. IT IS ONE OUTSTANDING 110 DONE IN OAK AND A ETHCHING ON THE BLADE AND OAK. SO NOW WE KNOW THE STORY OF THE "TRAIL OF TEARS 110T" I HOPE THIS WAS SOME HELP TO ANY ONE INTERESTED. GOD BLESS TO ALL

Thanks Dave. I'm still looking for the model and cat numbers so I can add them to the special projects list. Does anyone have that info?

Thank you Mr. Matheny. I appreciate the answers and look forward to anymore info that you run across.
