Trailmaster blanks?

I've seen advertised for sale "Trailmaster blanks" and have heard of folks who have bought them at gun shows and places such as that.

Does CS OEM the blades from some company, or does CS sell a percentage of its blades as blanks? How do these get on the market?

Anyone have opinions on these, the ethics of the grey market (if that's what it is) or other commentary?

I don't know if this is true or not, but I thought I read somewhere that for a long time Ontario Knives made the Trailmasters. I think CS does them in house now, but I have no idea.

Where did you see the trailmaster blanks for sale?

Rhett,

I saw them in two places - for sale in rec.knives (awhile ago - do a search on deja.com for Trailmaster and you should find it) and while reading a post somewhere (here?) about a guy finishing a blank that he bought.
